Meanwhile, the % of renewable power generation is twice as high in Germany compared to the US. Now, which country is better positioned to be energy independent?

You know they didn't have that before this.....right? They were using natural gas, which they can't get, which is why they are going to use coal again so they didn't have enough before. Nothing has changed.
The key thing is: They don't have enough wind and solar YET.

So do you object to people not freezing this winter in Germany. Bottom line they went all in on green, it's not enough and the people expect the government that they pay for to ensure they have power to heat their homes.

I posted the link explaining it to start with ;) learn to forum bro
As of December 2018, Germany doesn't have any domestic hard coal mining left. Instead, coal is imported from Russia (50%), the United States (17%), Australia (13%) and Colombia (6%), followed by Poland, Canada and South Africa (2021 data).Jan 18, 2023

    !) You didn't post a link
    2) Yes, you posted that quote. Where you got it from, don't know, don't care because you want it both ways. THEY HAVE NO COAL LMAO, and then THEY HAVE TO IMPORT IT. Given the context of the two statements since they were posted separately, you want it both ways.

Your right it isnt. But it's real difference is it's renewable. As far as environmental pollutants go they are right up there with there fossil cousins.

The Climate Change Church members. We are nowhere near the point where "alternative renewables" can replace all of even a large portion of our energy needs. Yet Biden and the far left are determined to force EVs down our throats.

And don't come back with your BS about how "You have choices." Biden, the Climate Change religion and the California have set 2035 as the you YOU WILL HAVE NO CHOICES.

Obama has the brass balls to say that he was glad electric rates were going to go up when he was president, WAY UP. I guess if you are worth $100 million + and can afford to build two mansions on prime real estate, you don't care if electric rates go to the ceiling. As for "the little people," included those whom Obama claims he cares about, "Let them eat cake."

ICE cars will be around much longer than 2035, don't fool yourself

what's killing cars is all the digital stuff carmakers are putting into them, all about planned obsolescence, cars that do not last

Germany approves bringing coal-fired power plants back online this winter

Probably a good thing. One government at least understands that renewable energy isn't quite ready to replace burning things for energy.
