What had been my insinuation? If you say that it was that you were putting words in my mouth:

*1) You just admitted that you had chosen your insinuating words, on purpose.

    2) My asking you not to put words in my mouth, came after your insinuation; therefore your pretext, that you were only returning more of what I had first directed at you, is obviously false.

So much, for expecting sincere conversation, from you. (That is not an "insinuation"-- it is a commentary on what I have just shown your reply, factually, to have been: all B.S.).

LOL-- the solution, in the eyes of some, never changes: to make us safer from guns, we need more guns; when we have difficulty with a country's government-- just "bomb the stuffings out of" them.

Sure-- look how well that worked for us, in Iraq. Or in Afghanistan. Clearly, just blowing things up, does not result in creating a more stable, and friendly, nation, in place of the former problem. And your mentality, that we can just start bombing to hell, any place we decide we have a pretext for it, is the same type of thinking that has already led our nation, blindly, to be swallowed by so many pointless & enduring, military & political tar pits.

National border fences are not a method of internment.

It's just so horrid the situation I can only speculate exists in Gaza. It is my understanding that this small rectangle on the very Southeastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea is literally barricaded by Israel and Egypt. And its people can't leave. Do you know if this is approximately the state of things for them?

Be this as it may, what has happened this weekend will not make anything better, to the contrary, it seems to play a bit in favor of Netanyahu. Although, given that it has happened under his leadership with significant success in moving toward a more autocratic government, should really be an event that detracts from favor of his leadership.

Sadly the time has long past for when Britain should have stayed out, about a century ago to date.

I'll tell you what I think should be done. Israel should tear down the isolation of Gaza, end its policy allowing "Israelis" to "settle" into / onto / in-theft-of land owned by "non-Israelis" in Israel. This is among some of the most f'd up variations on "democracy" on Earth. The US though isn't exactly squared away in this respect. There was an excellent piece of the script in Succession where Lukas Matsson opines, "You’ve been a democracy for like 50 years… unless you don’t count black people, which is kind of a bad habit."

It's kind of surprising to me that anyone wants to live in any country associated with any one specific religion. Being of the nerd religion, I can think of nothing worse than living with nothing but my own kind.

It's a monster read that book, left me with little more than the impression that 1922 vintage British leadership was chockfull of a bunch of jackasses that made ole King George look sane by comparison.

I do not condone this stuff by Hamas by any stretch of the imagination, but the likely reaction to it I equally expect to be appalling. Since you bookmarked my recommendation of the Fromkin book, an even better one is Frank Herbert's Soul Catcher. It is an unforgiving look into the sacrifice of an innocent by a justifiably deranged aboriginal, to use the Aussie term for Native American. Haunting....

I'm too angry and sad to even try to prove how wrong you are. Just answer some questions: would you advise South Korea to open its border with North Korea? Would you expect Armenia to open its border with Azerbaijan? Would you demand that India keeps its border with Pakistan wide open? Are you going to claim that the border between Gaza and Egypt should always be open?

What a phony argument-- showing how weak, your position truly is, that this is the best you could come up with. The "border fences" were not put up by Palestinians, to keep out illegal migrants: they are a cage, put up by Israel, to keep the residents of Gaza, in.

If you can't readily grasp this difference, then I think the basic understanding required for political debates of this variety, is beyond the fences, of your ken.

I'm fine with being educated on how wrong I am - please, proceed to offer your solution to your country's solution to the Gaza strip problem. Kill 'em all, is it?

These are false equivalences, you make, for a number of reasons. However, I have no desire to further enflame your anger (nor to compound your sadness), by pointing out the differences, of which, I think you are already aware, anyway.

Arabs were living peacefully on their own land in 1948 when Jewish terrorists drove 700,000 of them from their happy homes. Today Israel is the occupying power of Gaza and the Palestinian Territories. That means Israel has an obligation and a duty to protect the civilians under its occupation instead of murdering them in their unhappy homes.

    https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/five-israeli-talking-points-gaza-debunked/

"As the occupying power of the Gaza Strip, and the Palestinian Territories more broadly, Israel has an obligation and a duty to protect the civilians under its occupation.

"It governs by military and law enforcement authority to maintain order, protect itself and protect the civilian population under its occupation.

"It cannot simultaneously occupy the territory, thus usurping the self-governing powers that would otherwise belong to Palestinians, and declare war upon them.

"These contradictory policies (occupying a land and then declaring war on it) make the Palestinian population doubly vulnerable."

Gaza is such an urban place that if Israel occupies it's airspace and sea, as well having the border blocked by Egypt,... that it'll be genocide.

The loot is the promised land. Israeli Jews are fanatically committed to the point to get as much land across the border as they can... since according to their religion, it's theirs to take through genocide if that is what is needed. And look at the buggers go at it since they founded that country. This is one them, for uncompromising thieve land against international law and endless condemnations creating an apartheid state of not giving Arabs equal rights on the land they used to live on when the Jews move in.

Your point is that Gazans are free to fly from one to the other?

They can not be used, since Israel occupies it's airspace.

No, it doesn't. Nobody trusts the current government anymore. They don't even dare speak publicly, except for Bibi and the defense minister. The rest are on their way out not only from this government, but probably from all forms of political life as well.

On the first day of war, when Russian forces invaded Ukraine, I said that the Kremlin must be swiftly destroyed. I still think it should be.

There were warnings, but our government was too busy turning the country into a far right dictatorship to care. This is the beginning of the end for all of them, including Bibi.

Yes, groups of armed Israeli civilians fought against the terrorists until the army arrived.
