I am aware that gay people cannot get married in Israel, but gay marriage is recognized. Gay people are not persecuted there. They even have a pride parade in Israel. (They have a pride parade in the surrounding region, but it starts from the top of a tall building.) Considering the side you are debating on behalf of, you are not in a position to criticize Israel on this issue.
