WELL, OBVIOUSLY! I wouldn't expect your CHERRY PICKED RANDOM rating cartoon site to call any of THEIR OPINIONS THAT YOU AGREE WITH QUACKERY! I just want to know what idiot's OPINIONS you're agreeing WITH.
Feel free to use your own objective rating site. I'm sure you won't like Media Bias Fox News rating either (shown below). One thing nice about the United States. If you choose to live in a bubble, you can. Media Bias Fact check also evaluates MSNBC and CNN. MSNBC has the same Factual Reporting score as FOX, and CNN comes in as "Mostly Factual". MSNBC is LEFT on the horizontal bar, but not in the "Extreme" area. CNN is "Left-Center". I find it repulsive that public venues (gyms, etc) will show FOX News, which is analagous to a Nazi propaganda network.
OK, from their website: "While the concept of bias is inherently subjective and lacks a universally accepted scientific formula, our methodology employs a series of objective indicators to approximate it. We utilize a visual representation—a yellow dot on a scale—to signify the extent of bias for each evaluated source. This scale is accompanied by a “Detailed Report” section which elaborates on the source’s characteristics and the basis for its bias rating." So their ratings are subjective and fundamentally BS. In other words, not worth anything. And I don't watch news, Fox or otherwise. I prefer thinking for myself. You ought to try it sometime.
Please focus on the big picture which is a steadily increasing demand for EVs in Germany, despite a downturn here and there.
Again, that is counter to what your posted screed was stating. The main point here is that the site where you got that document has objectives that allow it to make claims it can not support.
Suit yourself. If rent-an-opinion works for you because you can't do any better, have at it. Doesn't make it any closer to the truth.
That's not true. Like with oil, electricity, ICEs, etc., there is still a free market even with subsidies, which change prices in a regularized way. Also, I'd point out that various states weight AGAINST EVs in various ways. For example, not allowing Tesla to have sites that sell their cars directly to customers and severely limiting the number of service locations Tesla may have in the state. These are all cases of government having their thumb on the scale. But, it's still possible to identify demand.
That's purely BS. Biden's EPA is progressively banning ICE vehicles in favor of EVs. The latest round of EPA standards that were just locked into place a few weeks ago REQUIRE about 67% of all new vehicles sold in 2032 in the US be EVs. Period. That's on the way to banning ICE in new vehicles entirely by 2035. That's a mandate. Not just putting their thumb on the scale.
What is banned today? A study shows that the advent of EVs has brought cleaner air to Los Angeles, thus reducing the pollution that costs people in healthcare. Do you believe that people who want ICEs have a right to impact the health of others living in their city? How is this different than the major pig farms who want to solve their major sewage problem by allowing it to flow into rivers? When we had no solution, what we did was try to force manufacturers to create cars with less harmful exhaust - a losing battle. Now, we are developing a solution for a major percent of transportation needs, which ends the neighborhood pollution problem that costs people in their health. And, it is beginning to show that it works!
It is suggested by the link you posted: EV's 28.9% decline year over year "with no signs of a recovery."
Wow. That's a confused hot mess. First, the "Environmental Justice" tropes you keep trotting out are 30 years old and have never been actually demonstrated to amount to anything real. Second, those lame ideas deal with actual pollutants, not CO2 which isn't a pollutant. Third, virtually all real pollutants have been eliminated from modern ICE engines since then. You can confirm that by looking up the current EPA/CARB pollutant standards and actually seeing what all modern vehicles have to be proven to meet (properly proven on a dynamic in a lab and not merely modeled). Fourth, cleaner air in LA actually has to do with reduced NOx emissions from the aforementioned real pollutant reductions and has nothing to do with EVs which have only recently become a modest market segment through the again aforementioned government destruction of the free market. Now if LA wasn't just a big bowl that traps pollutants in the city and doesn't let them dissipate, maybe you folks could solve the whole thing. Why don't you work on that? Meanwhile, while you're looking up EPA/CARB's actual pollutant standards, you can stop over and look at the CO2 standards that were just finalized and see just how many EVs they are going to make automakers sell in 2032. And then you can contemplate the impending economic destruction that will inevitably happen when automakers are forced to make vehicles noone wants and are prohibited from making vehicles people do want. Along the way, you might want to look into the history of government run non-free market economies. Good luck.
The healthcare damage cause by ICE emissions is repeatedly analyzed. After all, the various emission standards need to be tied to their justifications. CO2 has more to do with climate change. Definitions of pollutant have more to do with attempts to prevent work to reduce our contribution to climate change. China doesn't believe that. Europe doesn't believe that. The study of air quality in LA doesn't confirm that. ?? EVs have zero emissions. There is a free market in automobiles. The idea of terraforming our cities is obviously ridiculous. Yes, I'm pretty sure there will be major changes in automobile manufacturing and supply chains. China is very seriously working on becoming the auto supplier for the world. Today, ICE manufacturers are going to find it incredibly hard to keep up. Our auto manufacturing is designed to be a high volume business, with manufacturers spreading the profits to parts suppliers and vendor businesses. I just don't see how that can compete with the more vertical EV manufacturers, who build in-house and sell direct, without dealerships that must make profits and who rely on maintenance. Also, the most expensive component of an EV is the battery, and every analyst in the world states that battery prices are headed down in a major way. The result will be tough price competition for ICE automobiles. Read what Mary Berra says and how it changes from month to month. Read what Jim Farley says.
