Curious about the representation here of states. Anyone take a guess at which state is more represented here? Maybe VIC or QLD? Have you considered moving states, or have you moved states? I'm pretty content with NSW and if I moved I would probably just like to go further up the coast of NSW.
Which State.... WHAT. Doesn't a poll have to have some point or actual meaningful question? I say State of confusion.
When did you go to Antractica? Anyway, I was born in NSW and have lived in QLD for the past 22 years.
Back in my seafaring days I worked on a tanker that was contracted to the US government. They had a us take a small load of diesel to a base down there.
Which state do you reside in. I thought saying I was curious about the representation of states here would make that clear. But not clear enough, it seems.
Same here. Spectacular scenery, but I found it too remote in so many ways. Darwin didn't do much for me. Ayers Rock I missed out going to but Katherine Gorge and Kakadu were highlights for me. You move around a bit. I tend to move around different streets in the same suburb. That's how adventurous I am.
Thanks Gwendoline, And to Oxyboy. Cynical is not comical actually. You say the question means where are you from. Actually, I'm Australian is your answer. I've lived in every State and Territory of this great country. Or I could say my mother's womb, or the hospital I was born in answering your question couldn't I? It appears you have confused what the author meant so it must be you who is confused. I sought to clarify is all. To Gwendoline, I live in QLD, fortunately a part not hit by floods but they weren't far away. Great weather, bad govt. Same as most places in that way, right? To the non NT person. Have you been there? It's by far the best place to live when growing up and for places to go and see. If you just travelled through on a bus then you didn't see it at all. Or did you run into some drunks? They are everywhere too. I must, of course, exclude Tennant Creek and Katherine which are hell holes.
The link below shows the population of the states. Your poll should have the same proportions as the table in the link. http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/3101.0
I most certainly have. Spent several months there. And I can assure you, I will never return. The weather is horrible and the people aren't much better (uneducated, drunken, incestuous lot). My ideal maximum temperature is 15 - 18 degrees C. Therefore, even if I did find the NT a nice place, I could never live a comfortable life there
Where do you live, in a fridge? My min temp is at least 26-27 degrees. I freeze at anything less, which is why I'm off to QLD first chance I get.
I wish! Unfortunately, I live in the hellhole that is Perth. But I'll be in Tassie before the year's out. That's the weather for me
Lucky no NT people have polled so far, cos they will go after you. It didn't feel like a progressive kind of place. And I found the people weird, but not in the good fun sense of weird. The regard for the Indigenous in many places that I travelled around, broke my heart. That they have "Intervention" there now, really annoys me. I agree the weather is horrible. The landscape is stunning, though. And those giant anthills flip me out. I mean, how industrious are those ants? Amazing tiny things they are.
I'm a non NT person, too. I travelled by car, Sydney to Darwin. LONG trip. I saw a lot. Beautiful vistas. Yes, a lot of drunks. I found Tenant Creek fascinatingly depressing. Stayed in a severely lopsided caravan in Julia Creek. And kept falling out of bed the slope was so bad. I could not live there, anywhere. I found it too remote.
I'd love to visit Tassie but I won't because I'd freeze to death. It's around 23 degrees here right now and I'm rugged up inside like it's winter.
