    Finally,
The European Champions League ended with Barcelona winning. Soccer is the most popular sport on earth, and i guess in the whole universe (yes i don't believe alien stories :D)

What sport you prefer (other than Football ~ ie soccer)
    Collective (Team) sport ?
    individual (or one-vs-one) sport ?

    me:

    Collective: Rugby
    Individual: Archery

Football. So disappointed with SAF's choices today. So so so disappointed.

Archery, I suppose I like too.

Soccer isn't the most popularly watched sport here in Australia. It may be one of the most played by juniors but at adult level we have 5 main sports that attract crowds.

Australian Rules Football (a type of gaelic football in some ways),
    Rugby League,
    Rugby Union,
    Cricket.

And Tennis once a year, at the Australian Open.

I like gridiron very much too but couldn't watch it live, far too many ad breaks. So I record the games and watch without ads.

i bet that SAF is american football team?

once i watched ice hockey, i think it was US team against some other one, and it was very enjoyable even for me who was watching soccer like 90% of his sport watching time :D

that's why i prefer Rugby. It is more flowing game.. no 'exagerated' stops
I am waiting for World Cup in New Zealand this september

btw, are you watching Roland Garros ?

Calf Roping ! must be tough sport to learn

No, European. Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United (someone's not a fan!).

Who the hell plays Valencia over Nani. I know you're trying to exploit space behind the left-back, and that Valencia has a bit more pace and Nani tends to cut inside too early. But he's so much more technically gifted.

Why did Giggs play the full 90? He was abysmal. Horrify. Man Utd needed more ball-winners; not some idiot in horrible positions.

    not accustomed to acronyms :s

i am not that fan of foot, i watch finals. i used to watch more foot than now, and i was surprised that Giggs still plays. He was a shadow during the match. Valencia, he should have been warned and probably given the red card.

His mind is on other things.

    Lol...had to look that up.

I generally like any sport my husband doesn't.

His sport is boring, he watched that football game and today he watched another :bored: and worse...now we have to watch Formula 1 racing continually because he's met Paul Di Resta. I keep saying he won't be any good for at least a year, he was in 12th place again today...

Anyway, I don't mind tennis, ice-skating, rubgy, lots of sports.

Rugby Union, obviously - by far the best sport. None of the girly padding of american football, or stop-start bordeom of that and rugby league, or the rolling-around-and-screaming 'oohh ref I've got an eyelash injury cos he was less than 6 feet away from me - send him off and give us a penalty' nonsense of football/soccer.

I was queuing behind this bloke in a shop the other day:

His little kid was running rings round him!

As for individual sports, the only one I watch regularly is Formula 1, which isn't really that individual!

I agree with both questions you raise. Nani is pure class and Giggsy just does not have the legs anymore to put in 90 quality minutes in midfield. United need to add a bit more quality into the centre of midfield. The current rumour is that United are interested in Luca Modric. I am a Spurs supporter and Modric would help United. For the correct fee, I would love to see him go to United and win in Europe.

Although I support Tottenham, I do follow Maidenhead United. Ebbsfleet had quite the season.

Yeah, but I don't think Spurs are going to sell— nor should they. They barely missed out on the Champions League and can show real strength by going the distance in the Europa League (if they choose to play more than subs).

Bale, Modric and VDV are essential to that. Get a new keeper and someone who can actually score a goal and you'd be set to challenge for Europe again.

If United offered a good price for Modric, Spurs could afford to send him off to Old Trafford. Van Der Vaart and Bale are the most important pieces of this current lot, so I agree they stay. Spurs could use the fee from the sell of Modric to buy two quality players, including a striker, which is desperately needed. Although he was dodgy this season, I am still supporting Gomes as keeper.
