Okay. When your frigging politicians stand up and say "Look, I waited until the very last minute, and listened to all the speakers, then made my decision for the national interest" and then in the next breath says that the nation is literally bankrupt, how the (*)(*)(*)(*) can you go out in good conscience and strike and riot and bring your country to a standstill??

What is it exactly the Greek people believe? Do they not beleive that they are broke? Do they not beleive that there is no money left? What is it exactly do they think is going on in that Parliament building and what exactly is it they want the Government to do?

Do the Greek People not want IMF money? Do they think that the Greek nation can stand without it? They seem awful naive and uneducated these protest crowds with nothing but a sense of general anger.

I say give these protestors what they want. I say pull out the IMF money, kick greece out of the EU and leave these commies and socialists to starve to death in thier utopia, because that is exactly what would happen in Greece if these people got their way.

They're cutting from the people rather than other more obvious areas... like the military— which not-so-ironically, is backing the government.

They have a rather large military considering their size.

US corruption trickled to that country in the world economic crash and is causing Greeks to take pay cuts in their jobs which they did nothing to contribute too.

now the greek government is caving into world demands instead of working for its people.

The battle royale due to the failure of European Socialism has begun!

    * grabs some popcorn, pulls up a chair, and watches with amusement from an ocean away *

Who will win in the end??

    The European Entitlement Class
    vs.
    The Big Bloated European Governments

What? They have a treaty obligation to NATO to spend at least 2% of thier GDP on thier military, and they don't exactly get along with Turkey all the time.

If they don't want to live up to their treaty obligations they should pull out.

Uh, no, it's just a bit larger than the UK and France, by GDP.

They spend more and for what? Fears of Turkish expansion? The military is just welfare and should be treated as such. It's why standing armies are so popular in modern societies despite the obvious lack of need for them. Instead, the government cut benefits for people who worked their whole life.

this is incorrect as US corrupt capitalism is what started the world economic crash.

european socialism in Greece was doing fine until that.

It's significantly larger than both, The British well under 3%, and the French about 2%, if I recall. Considering they have budget problems, they couldn't cut a few billion out? Laughable.

That leaves 1.2% for non-NATO commitments, which is not a lot.

    From your own source:

How did Goldman rip them off exactly? By allowing the Greek Socialism to continue a longer by keeping thier mouths shut rather than announcing to the world that Greece was really broke, thereby stalling off a crisis that was going to occur anyway?

What would you have Goldman do? Snitch to the world financial community the truth about Greece? Okay, I can agree with that, but that's not "ripping people off".

The only thing that Goldman did was delay the crisis, they didn't cause it.

There's one reason most of Europe doesn't need a truly viable standing army...

    The USA. *flexes*

Or not. Modern Europe doesn't make short wars into decade-long debacles.

    A billion. That's a laugh. Their deficit is $35B.

Better start taking it away "from the people."

No, they ensure the debacle continues on 50-60 years and leave the diplomats to wring thier hands impotently for decades hoping eventually a century from now, a nation might come around to actually agreeing with them.

your shedding of tears for the memory of Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden is of no relevance.

    They're gone.

    get over it...your side lost.

I view it as the people protesting against the banks. Fighting against a bailout that will bring decades of debt and will burden the next generation.
The protesters are very violent, but I do not understand the Greek society, perhaps it is needed.
Could Greece do the same as Iceland and tell the banker to stick it? Only took three years for Iceland to go from collapse to revolution to growth.....

A country cannot survive without financial institutions like banks. What are the people going to do? Barter trade like the 3rd world?

i would have goldman sachs be honest instead of what they did

the current austerity measures benefit bankers, not the greek citizenry

that's the nut case point of view
