Remember in there for days not weeks? The 'non war' is costing us $4 million PER DAY, according to Secty of the Air Force, Michael Donley. Where are all the screaming liberals when Bush was in office? Are we giving money to the Brotherhood that want to kill Israel and us? Why isn't Cindy Sheehan camped out in front of the white house? This administration doesn't have a clue what they're doing. Four months and no progress... or end in sight. Just a thought... how 'bout the president pulls us outta this mistake and applies that money to his thirst for revenues? Might make those pesky spending cuts a little easier to swallow.
The cost is higher than expected...shocked I tell ya....shocked!!!!! A Pentagon memo whose content was revealed today by the Financial Times shows that the cost of Americas involvement in the war in Libya is around $2 million per day, putting the cost well ahead of previous estimates of $40 million a month to more like $60 million a month.
4 Mil a day? That's pretty cheap. Iraq cost us about 150 Mil a day. Though I must say that I don't think it's any more important to get Khadafi than it was to get Saddam........
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_cost_of_the_Iraq_War I don't like the Libya conflict, and I think we're wasting money that we don't have there, and that we shouldn't have gone in the first place, but, I ask again, where was this concern before Obama took office?
My how the hawks have turned to doves. Remember when people would be tagged as un American if you weren't in favor of any and all action against an Arab country? Terrorist sympathizers. Why do you hate freedom?
Has Gadhafi been found yet? Has he stepped down? Has he left the country? Is he still alive? Yep, this mission is going splendidly.
I love how you lefties are trying to spin this around and attempt to point to the hypocrisy of the right... all while ignoring and avoiding your own hypocrisy. The difference between Iraq and Libya is simple. Iraq invaded our allies and then ignored and defied sanctions imposed specifically to prevent further aggression. There is our reasoning why it isn't hypocritical. Where the (*)(*)(*)(*) is yours?
The egyptian people rose up and changed their government. For better or worse has yet to be determined, but they did it. Along with many other countries as of late. We got out from under what our ancestors deemed a tyrannical British government. Is it really our job to cause revolutions and overthrow governments in foreign countries or is it the job of the people living in that country? We can't afford to keep waging war as much as that may upset everyone invested in Haliburton.
*sigh* The point is, both are misguided conflicts that we should not be/should not have been involved in, and now, since there's a different letter in the White House, both sided uber-partisans have flipped... Iraq was not a threat to us at the time, just like Libya isn't now... Pretty simple, if you think about it...
Who wants to bet that the lefts response to my post is to attack my defensive position and stay on the attack in order to avoid having to address their own hypocrisy. This is liberal debate tactics lesson 101 coming in 5, 4, 3, 2...
Didn't cost us that much to have ST6 put a bullet in Bin Laden's head. I think Obama saved a good chunk of money there....
And I just explained to you how it's the exact same scenario... We shouldn't have been in either place... Period... But, as long as that D is in the WH, it's bad now...
<----- Can`t wait for electronic railgun technology to be perfected. By 2030 once our battleships are armed with them were going to be going back to pounding the coasts of our enemies with artillery instead of missiles! (much cheaper than missiles to btw)
I'm sure we did. Which leads to the realization that a full scale invasion of Afghanistan was completely unnecessary. Fighting terrorism is a job for intelligence agencies and spec ops. We would have saved a ton of money just running intelligence ops and then sending in our special forces like ST6 to systematically assassinate the terrorist leaders.
Rhetorical questions all... used to bombast only. Concerned with mere style or effect. R-wing hypocricy at it's finest.
As i recall our revolution would have gotten absolutely nowhere without a certain superpower backing us up...
Libya =/= Iraq Completely different situations. The left is only trying to align them for their attempt to make republicans hypocrites while avoiding their own hypocrisy.
