Don't worry, Obama will create subsidies for us to offset the cost of power, using some of that Obama money to make our lives better.

On an unrelated note, he will raise taxes on the evil rich to punish them for their greed, not to pay for his programs.

Either comply with the regulations set by the EPA or be shut down. Its as simple as that. I know you think coal plants should be allowed to spew whatever they want into the air and ruin the environment even more, but the fact is people want clean air and clean electricity.

we already have trouble generating enough electricity where and when it's needed. if you remove 9% of total capacity, there's going to be widespread outages aka nationwide rolling blackouts.

33 days out of the year, you just won't have electric service.

How much is your current power bill? Expect it to go up at least 20%, probably more between an increased scarcity of power and expensive regulations.

Meanwhile, look forward to the same rotating blackouts that California experienced a while back. Want to watch TV in the evening? Sorry, the power is off right now. Want AC on a hot summer afternoon? Sorry, that power was rerouted for a while.

Just wait, all that will happen is we'll run power trunks from Mexico, where these regulations don't exist and they will open the coal plants to fill the void. Not to mention they will probably not be as clean-burning or efficient as our current plants, so this program will probably increase, not decrease emissions.

It's powered by electricity, which is produced primarily by coal fired plants. Altho with average sales of around 100 a month. It really can't be considered a big seller.

The blackouts will be the problem...wen folk die due to cold or heat because there is no power because the far left insists of controlling every facet of our lives, I suspect folk will not be happy.

I think that 99% of the population already believes we have clean air. I further believe that those same folk will not be amused when they discover their homes MUST be 110 deg because the far left wants it so...They will be even less amused when their home is 30 degrees, their pipes freeze, and granny goes with them, all so the far left can exert control.

And, do not forget the new 'smart meters' that let the utilities (government) control what YOU do in your own home...

Though the irony will be that they will believe they need more government intrusion into their lives to solve the problem. And the cycle of ever-increasing government will continue.

Brilliant...a plan to turn off the lights, heat and ac while eliminating thousands of jobs. But wait...he is ... replacing the coal energy produced with clean energy, right?.... Right?
