PLEASE DO NOT LIE if you did not support him from the start, I'm interested to see how many/who have voted for Obama but have lost hope. I was smart enough not to believe him from the start, but I did vote for Bush in 2000 :bump:

The question should be: How many people who had lost hope because of Bush dictatorship, voted for Obama, the only one of all the candidates actually calling for change.

Those who did vote for Obama, cannot be faulted for Obama failure to carry through with pledge to change Bush policies. The other choice: McInsane, would have led to an immediate war with Iran, and possible rekindling a cold war, not to mention giving more cause for some Muslim moderates to possibly go Jihad.

Given the choices in the Republican Clan, and no 3rd party alternative, and Obama seemingly part of Corporate Oligarchy, there are only a few choices:

    1. Get out of USA while you still can
    2. Start combat training, and establish remote area survival HQ.
    3. Apply for govt. aid to secure Prozac and enjoy Brave New World

Honestly, in the very beginning I was for hope and change.

But since Obama has been president, I have lost hope.

Now all I look forward to is change!

I knew Obama was a fraud and didn't vote for him, but I underestimated just how destructive he would turn out to be. I figured that he couldn't possibly be worse than McCain and looking back I still think that's correct.

I didn't vote for Obama, but there was a little hope on my part after the election that he wouldn't turn out to be as big of a war monger as McCain. I was wrong.

Goslash, if you love me, you'll recognize that bombing countries with no authority from Congress is the act of an emperor, not a president, and is far more alarming than anything Republicans have done with Congress's approval. You should agree with that....right away.

I voted for him and will vote for him again. Until the right wing figures their crap out and stop pandering to these extremist fascists... I will stay as far away from them as possible. The Republican party has become a disgrace!!!

I repeat: McCain would've been the same thing as Obama.

The second choice is the most respectful. The first choice is forgivable. The last two are just plain embarassing

Of course he would. Only difference is the Republicans would be blamed for it instead of the Democrats.

Now I see what a political maladroit you are. McCain espouses no philosophy that military action can be taken by any president apart from approval by Congress. Your statement is pure fiction and has no basis in reality.

Goslash is on to something. Plus, McCain hasn't met a war he hasn't disliked yet.

I support the President; I prefer his VISION over that of Tea-publicans and corporate-worshiping Conservatives.

    OBAMA 2012!!

I did that poll before, about 85% say they only voted for Obama because of bush. that's how the two party circus works, it's how they help each other.

I respect Obama, just as I've respected every other President. None of them are perfect or miracle-workers. They're just men (hopefully women, sooner or later).

Oh, just wondering. Because if you love him, you'll help him pass his jobs plan. Right away.

Obama has a far better vision for this nation, than the Tea-Party or money-worshiping Conservatives.

How's that vision working out so far? Lol.

Let's see, we got one giant bust of a stimulus, and now he's trying to pass a second one. He got an abortion of a healthcare bill that's not only unconstitutional, but a free handout to the healthcare industry, passed. Umm, he's involved this country in a third war, and yet another commitment overseas.
His promises of "no business as usual in DC" and "being the most transparent administration" in history, were complete bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

Sorry, but you deserve what you vote for, too bad the rest of us who don't have our heads buried in the sand, pay the price as well.

Laugh all you want. But what you don't acknowledge, is that some of us are willing to fight for YEARS to help shape this nation into what we believe it should be. I'm about 5 Presidents deep now; no ONE of them can/will do everything. Right now, I think Obama is GOOD for America. So 'laugh' all you want... I can wait until you finish, and more importantly I can wait for the polls to open for every election (and I'll be there, as long as I can make it physically).

Many experts agree with him doing that. If you have some perfect proven solution, go ahead and present it here. I'm WITH the President on this.

I won't be completely satisfied, until there is a PUBLIC OPTION. Let those who want private industry to serve them, do so. But I see the need for government healthcare as well.
After Bush/Cheney... few Republicans have room to criticize; really.

I know the difference between campaigning and governing; even the words they tend to use. I suggest you learn the difference as well.

Amen. We make our choices and reflect them at the POLLS; so be it. See you there. :)

    I'll will.

You don't seem to acknowledge that you are are a minority, and there are twice as many as you who will fight to keep your vision of what America should be like from happening.

ya, hate to break it to you, but I'll be at those polls as well.

I can get as many experts to agree with me that the sky isn't blue, that doesn't make me right. How about you listen to the president's own words? Remember, " Those ready shovel ready jobs weren't so shovel ready".
Oh ya, there's always been a solution, it's called government not sticking it's nose in the economy unless it's to protect workers and consumers. Government makes a horrible middle man, when it comes the free market. And yet, you haven't figured this fact out yet.

I guess burdening Americans with social security and Medicare wasn't enough, let's get another massive entitlement we can't afford. You know we're broke and in debt right?

but when President Obama makes the same mistake it's ok? So you're fine with hypocrisy, good stuff.

I suggest you start holding politicians accountable, if you're ok with being lied too, that's your thing, it sure as he'll isn't mine.

    Ok.

I'm leaning toward voting for Obama 'cause I have yet to presented with what I feel to be a viable alternative. I still maintain hope.

Obama's failures, as far as I can tell, haven't been failures of vision. He wants the right thing. His failure has been one of implementation. He can't seem to get it done. I know the republicans have been ... y'know ... insane. But inspiring them ... somehow ... is part of his job. I don't know why he can't do it. I find him inspiring. They don't. I don't know why, but it's not my job to know why, it's his, and he's not doing it.

When the president fails at implementation, things can go from bad to worse. That seems to be the case with this health-insurance mandate. It's the wrong way to go. I can understand the math behind it, but a mandate of that sort is working from the wrong side of the equation. There has to be an answer that doesn't make people more dependent on the system. I don't even think it'll solve the problem. What he set out to do was well-intentioned, but by failing to implement a plan that gets the medical industry to take care of everybody, he's instead got his name stamped on a plan that gets everybody to take care of the medical industry with a long-term likelihood of no return in the form of, y'know, medical care.

It looks to me as though being president is about finding a compromise between many different groups of noisy lunatics. Herding squid, is the term that keeps coming to my mind. Like it or not, we need a good squid-herder. This is not necessarily a task that comes easily to the more rational-minded. Carter was a very wise man. Couldn't herd squid. Obama seems very intelligent. Can't herd squid.

I haven't seen anyone from the republicans that seems reasonable (to me), and I doubt the democrats will offer any internal challengers (which is unfortunate 'cause some internal challenges might be exactly what they need -- seems to have worked well for the republicans in some respects).

(Then again, Obama was an internal challenger, wasn't he?)

Anyway. I have still have hope for Obama. I never had faith in any politician, though, as they wear suits and ties and you can never trust a man in a suit and a tie, that's too many layers, they spend too much time getting dressed, they want to impress you too much for you to be able to trust them. True leaders wear jeans and rarely go into politics or business. So no real faith.

But hope. What can I say. I'm hopeful.
