So a sixteen year old kid can operate a motor vehicle, but not a trash compactor?

    Weird.

Yes, food stamps should ONLY be redeemable at Chuck E. Cheese. If that's ALL the vermin had to eat they would get jobs, that garbage is .......... well garbage! Even the Dumbo supporters couldn't exist on that. :ignore:

Yes, if not properly trained they could seriously injure themselves.

    Let's see.

Operation of a trash compactor for libs that are less than 18-years old:

Raise the doors and put trash inside.

    Close the doors.

    Push the button.

I fail to see the comparison. A motor vehicle is a private venture where the individual is responsible. With employment the company and government also become liable for injuries, especially over minors since they are still wards of their parents and are unable to give informed consent. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I really fail to see why this is an issue. Juveniles should not be operating potentially dangerous machinery. When they become legal adults and have more liability over their actions, then they can operate that machinery if they choose.

Additional step, make sure that "kids" are not messing around, hiding in the machine.

Seriously, anyone suggesting that kids should operate this type of thing is a nutter. There are certainly adults working at the same time, what's wrong in having them do it?

We talk from time to time about letting kids be kids, kids by their very nature do and should mess around and act like "kids". Expecting them to switch off the "mess around" part of their brain for these tasks is insane - they-are-kids FFS!

Liberals under 18 should horse around on their own time.

If they are old enough to have a job in the first place then then are old enough to know better than to - and I can't believe I'm actually responding to this as a serious objection - they are old enough to stay out of trash compactors.

    Are libs really that stupid?

They would hide in a trash compactor just to get a laugh on their fellow employees?

    Yikes.

We talk from time to time about kids being kids, when they are around 7 years old, not 16. Typical liberal thinking is not teaching responsibility, but putting them in a bubble. Just think of the millions of children that grew up on farms, most all have never had tragedies from that lifestyle, because their parents taught them about being responsible, something really foreign to liberals.

Perhaps you would be happy that kids be forced to not play sports or have to wear a air bubble suit while riding a bike. Let's stop allowing them to swim, because there is sometimes a drowning, not to forget what the sun will do to their skin.

I would think you would see how ridiculous you liberals sound, but I bet I am wrong on that assumption.

Really? I'd think that just living there would be punishment enough.

Sorry Mac, I see a flaw in your comment, today liberals at 18 are occu-poops, and would never consider working for minimum wage. That is the solution liberals have to protect the youth.

Absolutely, teaching them to be responsible is not the liberal agenda, but teaching a 5 year old to how shove a cucumber in a vagina is.

I'm honestly surprised that the driving age in California is not 21.

There are many ways in which kids (and they are kids) can harm themselves. Hoonestly, I think you'd have them back in the work houses or down t'pit if you could.

Overall, this thread is just more of the GOP "less regulation" crapola. This company knew the rules and broke them. They cannot compain about being fined, what is a small amount of money.

And I do notice, yet again, the same people who regarding the pepper spraying of students, took the line "they broke the rules, they deserve to pay", now take the exact opposite stance. Hypocricy at its best!

They broke the law. Full stop! They didn't even have stickers on the machines, telling minors not to operate it. They got away with a smnall fine, which they have not complained about.

Only right wing small government, low regulation ideologists are complaining. As usual, for no other reason that to complain (whinge) about something else.

Get a grip and stop whinging all the time - it's boring and makes you look small.

Yeah, we noticed you had no comment about driving a car at 16. God you liberals lack common sense.

Oh, liberals are allowed to complain and protest (occu-poops) but conservatives aren't. Typical

Even Chucky Cheese didn't complain! Whinge whinge whinge. You moral highground is about as false as the cheese on a chucky cheese pizza.

I wouldn't allow kids to drive cars at the age of 16. 18 is an appropriate age.

Moral high ground? Try common sense.

Conservatives work at changing laws we disagree with, liberals subvert them, like our laws on illegal immigration.

I'm guessing your comprehension stems from the word "morality".

But it was the owner of this Chucky Cheese place who was subverting the law. Does this mean he's a liberal?
