And it was the US's responsibility to go over there and give them the freedom to allow forign AQ fighters into their country, destroy all infrastructure and fook off when the going became too expensive. Well, they did figure out that the US won't be getting their oil. Which wasn't particularly hard to figure out, since the first destination for invading US troops was the Iraqi oil ministry.
Actually, I'm undecided on the issue. The people were certainly proud to vote, even dodging bullets and proudly displaying their fingers dipped in ink in spite of the threats. We'll soon find out if this is a passing sentiment or if they're really willing to fight to defend a new way.
