ya, I want to teach high school(secondary ed) as well. No little kids for me!! I have to run, but I will be back on in about an hour. If you want, I can recommend a few sources which I used for my paper.

I like it. I am student teaching at the moment, so i am still in school. I teach 2 days a week. I think it is really interesting. It also gives me the chance to do what I really want, which is travel.


I am actually taking a russian history class as we speak. It is a soviet history class to be specific. It is really interesting. As far as getting the book, i don't know. Do they have it at your school library? I know at my school, if they don't have a book you want at the library, they will send out for it. So, they can get it from another library in the area. Also, you can try some school databases. I found some really interesting stuff on the slavic review, and the russian review. Which are journals specializing in russian social and political history. I actually wrote a paper earlier in the semester called "the revolutionary peasants" The basic topic was whether the workers and peasants in pre-revolutionary russia were working towards reform or revolution.

Don't talk to me about new labour, I go to meetings every couple of weeks. You wanna talk cynical, right wing, free market politics then join the labour party! F*cking hell, the one committee/group (whatever you wanna call it) that has any real decisions to make has been taken over by the executive (some of the senior members) who make all the decisions in private, unminuted meetings. So not only as the labour party become suddenly supportive of laissez-faire in good times with help for bankers in bad, and all the power has been centralised away from the members, but that which is left with members where I am has been usurped by the executive! The sad thing is that most of the core membership is left wing to differing extents, it would be so easy to get a really effective coalition of the left, which is what the labour party is meant to be, but all the members are silenced. Ah well, in two years those problems will seem like a pefect past compared to having a tory government.

Dramentry? I haven't that word before I'll have to try it out. Yeah, it was pretty good in its own right, the fact that I was watching "based-on-real-life-events" dramentry (:D) about the tory party ripping itself apart and Thatcher getting shafted was just the icing.

A worthy campaign, what kind of support do you have in Ireland? I know in England there's very little support for free uni from everyone except the socialist workers party anda few other small leftist groups.
