I dont think its a bad idea. I just think Britain and France are capable of handling it themselves. America's intervention, while useful, is not strictly necessary.

If America does not want to go to war again, they do not need to. I voted "No" because I get the feeling America is a little weary from war.

      Hey, jan. How are you?

I'm assuming you mean a "conscientious objector." If you lodge a conscientious objection, you are basically saying that you are morally opposed to whatever you're filing against. For example, if you are a member of a religion that prohibits the taking of another life you could claim a conscientious objection to military conscription.

My comment was merely sarcastic in nature, as there is no option when filing taxes in the US to conscientiously object to your money being used for military purposes.

Thanks Jan ... it's good that you and everyone still talk to me. Autocorrelation is a statistical function that can be used to measure textual coherency. I assign word weights to each of my words, then compute the correlation ... from the level of the correlation maximum, I have a numerical metric about the quality of my posts. About her, okay ... her English is not THAT bad ... but our verbal communication is still "funky" ... to say the least ... not that it would be a problem though. In Belarus where she has been living, English teaching is very minimal, I hear. One interesting thing about Eastern Europe is that nationality is rarely the same as citizenship. Since this is an arranged mariage, my friend the arranger maintains that she wants to organize the detais such as which country we would be living in. By the way I think the 2 of them had already cooked up the USA for moving to even before they told me about that she would like to marry me. :sun:

Hi Jan, I am the same wacky usa_student only I had to change my container ID from s123 to a939 because I reached my autocorrelation limit. That and I took too big of a beating from others. As for her, I do plan to introduce her to Political Forum, this is such a good site, civilized, but I can do this only after I have managed to teach her basic English.

Taraf and Zaman - these newspaper are all connected with Fethullan Gulen movement and current Turkish ruling party - AKP.... They are one-sided and the authors writes against opponents.... Midnight Express also votes AKP.

Ugh, hell no. Sorry but what my dear brother Midnight Express said below this visitor message, are incorrect. Taraf is very bad newspaper as much as Zaman. Both make Erdoğan's lame propaganda and filled with conspiracy. Even the word "Taraf" means "side", siding with someone/something. I would recommend you Sözcü or HaberTurk but since they're not well-known outside Turkey I would recommend Hürriyet Daily News instead. Turkish Weekly is also a good source. They're way better than Taraf and Zaman, at least.

Why can't you believe ? ? ? Mubarak applies pro Israeli politics and even Gaza war, they didn't help the Palestinians even the Egyptians as a nation all wanted their border to be opened for Palestinian civilians. Mubarak is a pawn of Israel and US.

      That's why they support Mubarak.

Turkish media is natural about events. Some say that Arab countries try to take Turkey's current ruling party's politics as model for themselves...because some Arabs are really see Turkey as leader of sunni Islamic Worl... This is also absurd because half of Turks are not happy with current ruling party - Recep Tayyip and his team. They are people like Turk123 and we are secular. Turk123 is an Islamist bigot also...

I think this revoluations are a BIG NOTHING, no strong ideological background.

Because I think your posts are very intelligent and informative. I enjoy reading them even if I disagree with half of them. I go by the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution, so I believe it is important to see and think about the information in your posts.

No, no strike for me, unfortunately. I work in a hotel, and my boss will fire me if I go on strike; but I support them!
