I think there is a difficult line to tread between sharing a message you believe in with conviction versus alienating a group of people because you refuse to engage with them on any topic but one. I do think homosexuality is a sin and I won't hide or shy away from that belief. On the other hand, I think it is important to realize that it is no worse of a sin than any other and we should treat everyone with love and respect. I would imagine that part of the problem in Ostap's refusal to actually discuss that issue would be the language barrier.

Natural law and natural rights are virtually the same thing, and what constitutes a natural right/law is reasoned by thinking about what rights people should have from other people in order for society to function best.

If both parties consent, then it's fine. A person has a right to life as part of the social contract, but that doesn't mean that they can't sign it away to a certain person if they so desire.
