It seems to be common knowledge that Ron Paul in the U.S. House hasn't got much done, despite considerable legislative activity on his part. So let's examine what are obviously the deeds of Washington politicians other than Ron Paul (and a few other true mavericks) over the past decade+:

*) $11+ trillion(!) in new U.S. Fed Gov debt (on top of the existing $4 trillion debt in the mid-1990s)

    *) $1+ trillion(!) annual deficits

*) 8+ year war in Iraq, thousands of U.S. dead and wounded, tens of thousands of Iraqi dead and wounded, a $trillion(!) wasted (at least) trying to find weapons of mass destruction that were known at the outset to have been long before removed from Iraq

*) 8+ year war in Afghanistan, tens of thousands of dead and wounded, certainly another $trillion+ that will be wasted

*) Unseating the President of Libya on orders from the U.N. under false pretenses

*) 'Drone Diplomacy' creating enemies around the globe

    ...there's more...

*) Multi-trillion(!)-dollar wealth-power transfer to Wall Street-London Banksters by shifting their derivative-based toxic assets (gambling debts) to everyone else

*) Open borders further diminishing working poor U.S. Citizens

*) Actively encouraging outsourcing and in doing so eroding the middle and upper-middle classes of U.S. Citizens

    ...and still more...

*) So-called PATRIOT Act eroding the Constitutional restrictions on government power as outlined in the Bill of Rights (warrantless searches and wiretaps)(!)

*) National Defense Authorization Act 2012 which gives the U.S. President the power to use the U.S. Military to 'disappear' U.S. Citizens and hold them indefinitely, without lawyers, charges or trials(!!)

*) The power of the U.S. President to execute, on his word alone, U.S. Citizens who are accused of a crime(!!!)

...but the traditional Dems and traditional Pubs promise they'll do better in the future; it's their one campaign consistency: 'Wow! You're right! Things are humped up! We'll do better in the future! Really! We will!'

Maybe they are wrong and Ron Paul is right(!)

Ron Paul as President, tempered by an engaged Congress, is a slim hope... but it's probably the only hope for the future of the republic.

They say Ron Paul hasn't done anything..but he HAS voted against anything that is unconstitutional...which is just about everything that comes across the table at him. Anything he puts forth, is swept away or rejected because it doesn't follow the 'status quo'

Well this is a clear representation of what would happen if he is elected President. His refusal to compromise means that legislation would come to a standstill at the Federal level. You can't run a country without passing even basic legislation which he would Veto all of.

So it's better to continue to run the nation into the ground than to run the nation into the ground? A president who refuses to pass bad and unconstitutional legislation could be a huge help. Maybe instead of nothing getting passed, maybe we'd end up with a federal government which actually passed quality bills because they know that would be the only way they would pass. Certainly worth a try IMO, because what's going on now just isn't working. Obama has shown that he's not changing anything, and the other Republican candidates certainly don't show any interest in changing things, so again is it better to run the nation into the ground or run the nation into the ground (maybe)?

Bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Inaction is FAR better than the actions our government has taken...especially over the last few years. Unless you're an Obama supporter, I don't see how you could possibly disagree with what I just said.

Getting nothing done is worse than doing a lot of harmful stuff.

if you go to a bar, get drunk, speed and crash your car you did something.

if you stay home you did nothing, youre not parapolegic and you still have a car.

the government needs more inaction in this sense.

Wow, saying a drunk who breaks the law is better than the person that is a law abiding citizen? The drunk also kills others.

Edit: I wasn't catching the sarcasm till I re-read it.

Haha, yeah im saying (metaphorically) that the government is drunk and speeding and about to hit a tree.

Im saying that Ron Paul wants to catch a taxi and go home.

or more desirably stay home and not get drunk in the first place (when you cant afford it) or at least drink responsably and in moderation.

You mean his refusal to bow to the status quo? His refusal to go against our liberties? His refusal to go against our God given freedoms? His refusal to go against the Constitution? His refusal to 'go along to get along'?

We need SERIOUS change....not the 'change' Obama promised and didn't deliver.

I really think alot people have been so brainwashed and manipulated for so long till they really don't understand what TRUE freedom really is....

It's a scary thought to those who think the government rules the people instead of the other way around like it used to be. I guess it would scare alot of people who have never experienced real freedom...

We aren't FREE...but with Ron Paul..we could be AGAIN

Do you have any idea what would happen if nothing was done. Even with our current gridlock we still pass emergency measures to keep the government running.

Basically with no action the government would shut down and cease to exist. No military no social security, every single government program would simply stop. How many millions and millions of people would be added to unemployment?

It doesn't matter because no unemployment checks would be going out. You'd have riots in the streets and no police or fire to protect you.

Sure this sounds like a wonderful plan.

    1. Keeping the government running is what we need to control..and keep it as small as possible, and force it to provide ONLY what it was originally intended to..

    2. See point # 1.

    3. Government programs? You mean 'entitlements'? Those things that alot of Americans think they deserve without working for?

    4. Riots in the streets..yup, but it's coming BECAUSE of government tyranny not because it's so 'out of our lives'

    5. The police {a good portion that are deluded anyway} are being trained right now {and have been for some time already} to treat YOU as a domestic terrorist if you do not bow down and follow along like a good sheep..they aren't planning on 'protecting' you.

The government is NOT "For the People" any longer....WAKE UP!

It is the extreem that people think is going to happen with Paul even though he has said he knows it can't be done in one fell swoop. Ron knows its a phase out system that needs to happen for this corruption that has been going on for 100 years. He is only planning to cut the $1 trillion in fund to places we can live without right at this moment. The people that work there aren't even going to be fired, they will be assimulated and the numbers cut through attrition.

It is not a black and white world we are living in, Ron understands that and will phase out the programs that are essential to those addicted to them over time.

His voting record says otherwise. He has refused to sign even good bills that and simply vetos them on his stance that they are States rights. I have seen no indication that he is willing to compromise on anything.

If you have some examples i'd be happy to look them over.

He won't compromise, but it won't be a one day change. He has said he will work to gradually phase out things that are unconstitutional that people are dependant on.

Ron Paul is a strict constitutionalist..he doesn't believe that the role of government should step out of their bounds and dictate what are 'states' rights to an issue.

States have their own power and work within the confines of the constitution as well...the government is only there for the people...to 'protect' rights, liberty and property..thats it...nothing else are they supposed to rule over.

Ron Paul knows how dependent people have become on the government, and it will be a phase out..not a 'toss you out of the boat and tell you to sink or swim' effect that alot of people fear..eventually yes, people will have to take care of themselves {like they used to be able to do}..and for those who 'cannot' they will be provided for.

Don't take the MSM's hot air on what Ron Paul is about..check the man out yourself..
