Most of those are great. That was a good laugh. I think the only one I really disagreed with was the Love It or Leave It. I've never understood why people had a problem with that statement. Just seems like common sense to me. If I live somewhere that sucks, I'm going to move somewhere better. Why would anyone choose to stay somewhere they hate?

I'm not sure I see what's bizarrely hypocritical about the Bizarrely Hypocritical. Maybe it's different over there in New South Wales, but here in the U.S., the right to life is a fundamental human right for everyone. Thus defending that right is one of the few obvious places even a libertarian should theoretically support government intervention. Perhaps a full-on anarchist might feel differently. I don't know.

I am pretty certain that the United States is the only place where Libertarians are "pro-life" because it goes against the whole meaning of limited government. Life by your definition (which I consider to be wrong) is not protected in the United States and nor should it be, especially by those claiming to be for individual freedoms.

Libertarians protect life at all levels of development. You are mistaking it for anarchism.

    No.

I understand the meaning of both of both ideologies, a libertarian can be "pro-life" but regulating abortion goes against the whole idea of small government. You could advocate policies that lower abortion rates that also don't restrict individual liberties, that is what a real libertarian would do.

You can't simplify the complex, highly emotionally charged issue of abortion in your cookie cutter definitions. Generally, in the United States, libertarians oppose abortion but approve of it being decided at the state level.

I agree libertarians can personally oppose abortion but restricting others from having an abortion is not a libertarian idea, it is the very thing that libertarians claim to hate, you can't apply an idea to all other issues (some that are also emotionally charged) but not have it apply on abortion.

You are actively support a policy that tells a woman what she can and can not be with her body. That is authoritarian, not libertarian.

    It is that simple.

We are talking about life. Libertarians defend life. You say it isn't a life. Scientists say life starts at conception. Again, because you say it is the way you think it is doesn't mean that's the reality.

Scientists also say that climate change is real, does that mean that libertarians should promote cap and trade.

Of course not, it goes against the principles of small government.

You can't sellout your whole ideology for one issue if all you do is cry about big government.

I've never been a purist ideologue. That's just mindless and frankly ridiculous. I support small government, therefore my beliefs can be considered libertarian, generally. I'm okay with people not recognizing me as an absolutist.

I am not a fan of purist ideologues either, it just seems to me as if many libertarians want to portray themselves as ideologues but then reneg when it comes to an issue that offends them (such as abortion or gay marriage).

I am sorry, this real or imaginary description of libertarians is foreign to me.

    It is simple.

If you look at the image that I posted again.

Libertarians want to think they are somehow intellectual so they act like the arrogant libertarian, the more libertarian than thou and the missionary but in reality they are selectively frugal and the bizarrely hypocritical libertarian and wouldn't want to live in an actual libertarian society.

Or better yet, I can avoid supporting abortion in any way, since I find the practice barbaric, while leaving others to decide to make their decisions about abortion. So yes, there is still a way of being pro-life, while being a libertarian.

What about Monarchists? We have been ignored by this attempt at humour?
