okay so if God is supposed to be all loving and fairness, how come he shows favoritism and has a son? why is Jesus granted the title son? are we humans not His children also? i never understood this, and it has been pressing on my mind lately.
He was God in the flesh. Get it? Of course, if such favoristism, as you say, is to be desired, do you really want to live a life of sorrows, be dragged away and beaten, and then hung on a cross to die?
no need to get you nickers in a twist. it is an honest question. everyone praises him as though he is God himself, but he was flesh and blood like us. no one is God but God. no had the power of God but God. so why is it that he [Jesus] is above, say Moses or Noah or something? sure God said Mary would have a kid that He put in there, but "technically speaking" He simply created (just like he created Adam) Jesus inside her. He didn't actually ya know....
up until Jesus, God created people directly by making them out of dust. he couldn't do this with Jesus because the Jews would have thought him a golem and ran away screaming.
I see. So you don't buy into the fact that Jesus was God in the flesh? Why then did they kill him? Was it not for blasphemy because he made himself as God? In fact, Chrst once said that "Before Abraham was, I am". Does this sound like an average everyday mortal to you? As for God being in the flesh, it is a mystery. As John 1:1 says, "The Word was with God and the Word was God.......and the Word became flesh." Outside of that, your right. It would make no sense whatsoever.
ok ya jesus did all these miracles and so ya. but moses did also, parting the sea. both did this with God's help. I simply dnt undrstand why jesus is granted title "SON"
So how does that make God unloving and not fair? Jesus is God's Son because He proceeded from God eternally. And He is God's begotten Son because His birth as a human being was by God through the act of the Holy Spirit. And the scripture that says Jesus was God's only Son does not end there.....the statement continues on to say, In whom I am well pleased. Meaning this is the only son that I have that I am well pleased, my other sons I am not as pleased with them.
Looking at the scenario from a secular point of view, it could be said that Jesus was the first man to re-cognize his relationship to God (the first born). Because of that re-newed cognition of such relationship, God bestowed upon Jesus that title, and the subsequent privilege of consciously allowing God to work through him. Hence, miracles being performed.
The easiest way to explain the Trinity is the way we are made. We are body, soul, and spirit. The soul would be the brain/emotions and the spirit is our eternal being that lives on after the body and brain die that contains our essence. I view Jesus to be like our body. Although all three components make up who we are, our bodies are the lesser of the two. After all, we were said to be created in the image of God. It then stands to reason that we are a triune being as well.
Well, human beings are more than just dust.....there is a part of us that is spirit, and that spirit came from God.....its God substance for a lack of a better term. Jesus' body was also from the dust and His Spirit came from God. The difference is that Jesus' Spirit proceeded from God eternally while ours does not.
