    I sport a Goatee and a Mustache for half the year and clean shaven the other have ... and could care less about anyone's opinion on how it looks or if it intimidates.

    LOL! I feel the same way. Currently, my beard is trimmed and shaped. I just feel weird without facial hair... can't really explain it.

    My wife likes mine and that's all that matters.

    By the way, the reason you're required to be clean shaven in the military is to ensure a tight seal with a protective mask.

    Try using high quality shampoo and conditioner on your beard... you'll see a difference. It literally doesn't feel like prickles when you touch it if you properly maintain and clean it.

    Personally, I prefer to be clean shaven; my wife also prefers me the same way. However, I occasionally sport the odd beard now and again much to her chagrin. Also, since someone mentioned it, shaving "down there" is really not that bad once you get the hang of it (no pun intended), and it sure makes things more enjoyable...if you get my drift. I also shave my armpits, and as far as I'm concerned I could care less who says I'm "gay" for doing it because I sweat less and it sure feels better when I'm out running or playing sports.

    Most athletes get rid of the body hair for the reasons you mention.

    Yep, thats the primary reason I do it. On the other hand, my wife requests I keep tidy (as she says) in those essential areas. Wow...TMI...my apologies!
