I think this popes coffin will be 2 metres high so they can fit his bent legs into it or do they break his legs to shut the lid of it?

This is very very very weird!!!

The funeral isn't over yet and so far 3 people are dead.

They have had to close the cathedral and stop them getting in to view the display and wont open again till the funeral to stop any more dying.

what's your comment on the Christian pope Shenoudas statement about all Copts refusing to go on pilgrimage to Jerusalem till they can go walking with the Muslims when Jerusalem is free of the invader?

you do know that the Pope Shenouda and his followers you keep talking about and making threads about was completely anti zionist dont you

3 dead and 140 injured in Coptic stampede the Health Ministry is saying as they tried to touch the dead pope. One young girl tried to commit suicide in Ismailia when she heard he died but they saved her apparently.

They are stopping them getting into the cathedral and the funeral is said to be Thursday now????.

I hope they mummified his body like the pharoahs because I can't imagine what sight or smell it will be on Thursday :omg: Today was about 25 degrees in my garden. That is just so so weird that sitting in his eklesiastical throne they call it !

SCAF announce national day of mourning tomorrow.

His funeral is over. All flags were at half mast and today is national day of mourning.
Thousands outside who couldn't get inside were throwing stones at the doors. They were crying and shouting for their baba. Many holding photos up of the late pope.
He was not sitting on his throne for his funeral as I was expecting that but laid in a coffin.
The funeral was in Copt and Arabic and was started by a very long time of wailing which is kind of pharaonic and clashing of sistrum which is also pharaonic. Hard to describe but sounded like the alphabet being sung with each letter taking a minute or more. That's the only way I can describe it really.
Lots of incence being blown over his body and one hand was seen on camera spraying after shave or perfume from an aerosol bottle over his face and chest :confuse: no idea what that was about except maybe the heat of the thousands of people and the body smell maybe??? I dont know the reason for that.

All the big names attended. Imams and SCAF. Actors and singers. Members of parliament and presidential hopefuls.

I didn't see Abu Ismail the Salafist hopeful or Amr Moussa though but Fotouh and Head of Al Azhar were there.

Bishop Bishoy a favourite in the next Pope Elections read out all the condolences as the body was being removed to the crowd and people were clapping and the loudest cheering I think? was when he read Grand Mufti of Al Azhar which was nice. He thanked everyone who attended and sent messages and the world leaders who sent messages.

His body was taken to Al Maza air force base to be flown to Wadi Natrun for burial afterwards.

I think by now Pope Shenouda the third will now be in his grave in his favourite place at the big monastery in Wadi Natrun awaiting his judgement day along with all the dead of our world. May he rest in peace, may Allah have mercy on his soul.

amazing scenes at the burial

I thought he was going to fall out of his coffin the way they were swinging it around at Wadi Natrun Monastery !!

At one point as they lowered him into the hole in the middle of the floor a bishop got up and stood on top of the coffin :omg:

    what a performance!

Those Coptic Christians are magnoon awi awi awi

All Egyptians are an inferior people because of their culture. Because of their lack of diversity they look like a herd of marmosets.

only one now till they elect Shenoudas successor then there will be 2 popes

I think though by the sounds of it the Coptic one is more like a saint and prophet. The Copts were saying he was chosen by God!! calling him a prophet

they were saying all kinds of weird stuff on the TV :confuse:
