Porky-Pig Rove is spouting off again looking for some right-wing love ... but most-likely further tormenting the 2012 GOP / Tea Bag Prez hopefuls who are already tormented with their own self-inflicted insanity ...

In his big Wall Street Journal Op ed piece today atttacking Obama’s campaign documentary and minimizing the magnitude of the economic crisis Obama inherited, Karl Rove also claims the killing of Osama Bin Laden was no big deal.

    Today

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...was-no-biggie/2012/03/22/gIQAMtjeTS_blog.html

Rove cites this quote from Bill Clinton in the documentary to make the case that any president would have made the call Obama made:

"As for the killing of Osama bin Laden, Mr. Obama did what virtually any commander in chief would have done in the same situation.
Even President Bill Clinton says in the film “that’s the call I would have made.”

For this to be portrayed as the epic achievement of the first term tells you how bare the White House cupboards are.

“That’s the call I would have made,” Clinton said in the documentary, according to Rove.
And it’s true, Clinton did utter those words.

But here’s the full quote from Clinton, at the 12:30 mark in the film:

“He took the harder and the more honorable path.
When I saw what had happened, I thought to myself, `I hope that’s the call I would have made.’”

In Rove’s telling, Clinton said, “that’s the call I would have made.
What Clinton actually said was, “I hope that’s the call I would have made.”
    Emphasis mine.

This comical level of dissembling and mendacity is to be expected from Rove.

But it’s a bit surprising that the Journal’s editors either didn’t think to check such an obviously ridiculous representation of Clinton’s quote, or worse, that they just waved Rove’s dishonesty through in the full knowledge of what Clinton had actually said.

Eh....this is not that egregious a comment by Rove IMO....

I think myself that almost any president would have made the same call as Obama. And it would have been a gutsy and risky call just the same. It's easy to Monday Morning quarterback and throw out hypotheticals though. Obama IS the one who made the call. It was the right one. The mission went off without a hitch and getting Bin Laden was a big deal.

Is that why when Bush had the chance he let Bin Laden get away at Tora Bora?

In this portion of the film, President Clinton is painfully recalling the few missed opportunities to get the world's most wanted man during his administration in the 1990s and he hesitated to give the green light to get bin Laden by a drone attack at the time. In hindsight, it was a grave mistake.

I'm with you. Childish to say the least. And by the way, Obama did not repel down a line and shoot Bin Laden himself. He merely told the Seals...Go do it.

I demand proof that the Seals operating under the Obama administration, no scratch that, proof that Obama himself killed bin Laden.

Take their word for it. ahahahaha. If you've payed attention in your lifetime, you don't take their word for anything. Soviet levels of propaganda in this nation.

Bin Laden was killed not because of Obama, but in spite of him.

Not quite. Obama weighed the decision more for its political implications, according to Biden, much less than the security implications.

    Obama's scum.

What I find even more amazing is liberals opposed to the Death Penalty were in favor of killing Bin Laden when he was living in that compound like he had Life without Parole.

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.

This is exactly what a retired CIA agent had said after Obama said he 'killed' OBL - that OBL had died several yrs previously from an illness.... but then he mysteriously shut up..... nothing more was heard from that dude.....

You gullibles will believe anything Obama says......

Wait, wait, they're not done yet. Someone who's an even bigger ******* than santorum could yet emerge.
Never underestimate the potential stupidity of the right-wing brain.

This was a really pathetic try to minimize the GOP's failure!

Sure, Bin Laden was "locked on his compound liek a life sentence" - with servants, his wives, drugs, and he was able to direct AQ operations around the world.

    FAIL.

And of course....the body was dumped within 24 hours, so noone could view it....aaaaaaand any pictures they'd like to show us...well they were deemed too graphic.

No evidence at all to show.

I'm glad OBL is dead, but this whole thing really stinks. I believe he's dead right now, but I have no idea as to when and where to believe he actually died.
