Whenever religion and state intertwine, problems arise.

Given the fact that Israel is the only Middle Eastern country with growing Christian population while it's rapidly shrinking in all Arab/Muslim states (not just the West Bank) the criticism of this segment as biased one-sided and intellectually dishonest is unquestionably justified.

Israeli Ambassador trying to Stop Free Press

The Israeli Ambassador complained to the Chairman of CBS BEFORE the programme was even aired, before he knew the content of the programme.

If Israel is so innocent I guess they would be anxious for the programme to be aired in order that their complaints can be justified, no? Unfortunately this preemption suggests that there are some uncomfortable truths they would prefer remain hidden.
I recall similar outrage and accusations of blasphemy from Christians prior to, and after, the screening of The Passion of the Christ, most of whom had never seen it and had no intention of doing so...

During the time of the initial cinema release of 'The Life Of Brian', I was living in Newton Abbot, Devon, and I had to travel to nearby Torquay to watch it because it was banned in Newton Abbot. It's almost incredible to think that this film was actually banned.

Borat again engages in intellectual double-speak. When he says the Israeli Christian population he means just that, rather than the combined Israeli/Palestinian Christian population or the Palestinian Christian population alone.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_Christians#Demographics_and_denominations

In a 2007 letter from Congressman Henry Hyde to President George W. Bush, Hyde stated that "the Christian community is being crushed in the mill of the bitter Israeli-Palestinian conflict" and that expanding Jewish settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem were "irreversibly damaging the dwindling Christian community.

Armenians in Jerusalem, identified as Palestinian Christians or Israeli-Armenians, have also been attacked and received threats from Jewish extremists; Christians and clergy have been spat at, and one Armenian Archbishop was beaten and his centuries old cross broken. In September 2009, two Armenian Christian clergy were expelled after a brawl erupted with a Jewish extremist for spitting on holy Christian objects.

n a 2006 poll of Christians in Bethlehem by the Palestinian Centre for Research and Cultural Dialogue, 90% reported having Muslim friends, 73.3% agreed that the Palestinian Authority treats Christian heritage in the city with respect, and 78% attributed the ongoing exodus of Christians from Bethlehem to the Israeli occupation and travel restrictions on the area. Daniel Rossing, the Israeli Ministry of Religious Affairs' chief liaison to Christians in the 1970s and 1980s, has stated that the situations for them in Gaza became much worse after the election of Hamas. He also stated that the Palestinian Authority, which counts on Christian westerners for financial support, treats the minority fairly. He blamed the Israeli West Bank barrier as the primary problem for the Christians.

The United States State Department's 2006 report on religious freedom criticized both Israel for its restrictions on travel to Christian holy sites and the Palestinian Authority for its failure to stamp out anti-Christian crime. It also reported that the former gives preferential treatment in basic civic services to Jews and the latter does so to Muslims. The report stated that, generally, ordinary Muslim and Christian citizens enjoy good relations in contrast to the "strained" Jewish and non-Jewish relation.

Contrast this situation with the Israeli Christians:

    http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Society_&_Culture/christpop.html

Being a minority of a minority, they are tolerated by Israeli society (except by Ultra-Orthodox extremists) and their equivalent birth rate makes them no real threat from a demographic point of view. 130,000 odd people in a population of nearly 5 million is not a dangerous number.

CBS report was revealing in a multitude of ways.

US guarantees freedom of press. This essentially means the government may not enact laws that punish or hinder what can be published by the Press. Generally (but not legally)this also means the government shouldn't intervene or influence what is published, yet here we have a Foreign government trying to influence America's press.

Now if Obama/Bush or any other government was caught doing the same I believe the Americans would be up in arms, but most importantly it would be in every newspaper in America. IS that the case? Don't know do't live there, but i doubt it.

Doesn't anyone else find it weird, that American citizens are putting up with this?

LOL, of course I mean just that, how is saying exactly what you are meaning double-speak? And every word I said was a fact, Israel is indeed the only state in the Middle East with growing Christian population and the West Bank is not Israel. That Israel haters can and do blame the exodus of Christans from the West Bank on Israel is not particularly newsworthy or surprising since they blame everything (like shark attacks in Egyptian waters) on Israel. The fact that the Christian population is rapidly shrinking in every single Arab/Muslim country in the Middle East (not just the West Bank) provides a much better clue as to the real reasons for the exodus than the expected "blame Israel first" opinion of the anti-zionist hate mob.
