All those examples, except for maybe drugs in some cases, are situations where your actions are not putting others at risk. Your own personal freedoms don't give you the right to put others at risk willy-nilly. Also, the law does not say you cannot use your cell phone in your car, it says you cannot do it....while driving. So, pull over if you have to take a call and don't have hands free technology.

I would prefer it if our Dear Leader and his administration would focus on unemployment and the collapse of the real estate market......but, hey, that's just me....

When I much care what someone like you thinks, I'll let know know.

    Don't hold your breath.

I'm a smoker, I wouldn't be able to hold it for long anyway.

And if you're not interested in unsolicited opinions, a public message board on the internet is probably not the best place to be.

I said I am not much interested in YOUR opinion...you personally.

    I did not say 'everyone'.

And I just said unsolicited opinions, not everyone's unsolicited opinions.

    Why are you still talking?

Your opinion is as close to irrelevant to me as is possible.

just be careful on the law as using the gps features of a phone should not be outlawed, just the sending of texts, cb's have been around for years, people can and do talk on them while driving, have no issue with that either

reckless driving is a crime, arrest people when they commit a crime, not for doing somethign that may or may not lead to a crime

Your last sentence is my point exactly.

I guarantee you that eating while driving is more 'dangerous' then chatting on a cell phone.

The same with having heated discussions with passengers.

Are we to arrest people for eating or arguing while driving now as well?
