It's enough to make you wonder how many issues they really care about and how much of it is just irrationally exuberant partisanship.
HEaven forbid that US troops go abroad on the premise of protecting America and the POTUS is willing to invest in things like "community colleges" "scientific research" "medicine" "VFW halls" I mean, the guys in the military are generally from wealth, right? Or are they generally from the worling classes, who'd benefit from this?
YEah, it's not like the troops, who earn quite little wouldn't want services for themselves and their families in civilian life.
"It's a privilege to hang out w/America's finest...." aw gee, how sweet. He's so phony. To bad he didn't feel that way during his Inauguration when he ignored the vets who were waiting to meet their new 'leader'..... He was the 1st and only president in 53 yrs to not go to the Salute our Heroes Ball. He sent Biden in his place b/c Obama was to busy rubbing elbows w/his Hollyweirdo pals.....
do you think the military is a collective entity?
I know you guys are all so blinded by your hatred of a notion like the dreaded "collectivism", but when talking about a nations standing army there really isn't anything more importantly "collectivist" than that.
"Logistical brilliance" .... "supreme command authority".... wow! you're really into the Kool aid, aren't you? I wonder if the Commander-in-Chief w/his 'brilliance and supreme command authority' has learned how to pronounce "Corpsmen" yet?
There's quite a difference between voluntarily serving one's country... and being singled out and conscripted into economically serving one's country
I am completely at a loss for the point you are trying to make and how it ties into the collective nature of armies... I know it's hard to figure out for someone forced into the Pavlov response of their ideals of what collectivism means,"it is always bad".... thing are either collectivist or individualist its a duality... which do you suppose an army is? IDC about that "Army of One" nonsense, armies by nature are collectivist to be anything else would be ineffective.
Yep... maybe right... but tht doesnt mean that they have to hate things that are obtained by the cooperation of many people does it? The very organization they belong to is very communal and socialist in nature after all. It doesnt mater if they volunteered to be there or not... it doesnt change the nature of of the military. Another thing that is uniquely american... the National Football League... a socialist enterprise
Welllll, you know how it goes.... libs in la la land have their fantasy that at 3 a.m. the phone rang and immediately afterwards Obama was face-to-face w/Osama and shot him in the face...... Let's not forget that that story starts w/"Once upon a time....."
...Each of us is only here because somebody looked out for us. Not just our parents, but our neighbors and our communities and our houses of worship and our VFW halls. Because we had a country that was willing to invest in things like community colleges and universities Since Obama's campaign got a vocal and financial support from the teachers' unions, he has to repay in kind rallying in for pro-teacher policies. Investing in education will help out teachers no doubt where wages and jobs are concerned, however it may not be of such assistance to their pupils. If you simultaneously dismantle the NASA projects, over-regulate and over-tax the private sector of the economy rendering it less globally competitive, then how can you guarantee that more graduates won't find themselves competing for the same amount of job placements i.e. in the same or smaller yet economy? A question could be asked, would additional investing in education result in higher teacher wages, more low-skilled graduates (unlikely given the high-school drop-out rates) or in graduates with better skills? If you're aiming for the third option, you first need to revise the curriculum to incorporate more math and science because these skills are often cited as lacking from giving many schools and their graduates a good competitive edge.
for some reason, consmike hasn't answered my question maybe you can take a stab at it do you think the military is a collective entity?
