More than likely, yes. It's ironic how as much as a lot of those liberal hippie yahoos like to revere Native American cultures and way of life, what with their love and adoration of all things hemp, peyote, tobacco, and the tendency of Native American cultures to be "at one with nature", Native Americans are also the First Conservatives on this continent; steeped in traditions going back thousands of years, there's not much room for "hope and xhange" or "forward" in our sovereign nation's society. Around these here parts (I'm currently taking a long and much-needed vacation in an Alaskan village) for every house that has an HDTV, 9 times out of 10 there is probably a honey bucket out back to take a crap in.

I personally know people who are 'whiter' than myself, but have native "ancestry", and use that "ancestry" as a means to obtain grants (etc) and participate in native churches which use peyote.

It's an extremely bizarre thing when one can look in the mirror, see one thing (the reality), but due to psychological issues, claim to be something else... to convince themselves that they are something else. Sad really.

I'm loose on the subject ... post up something that reflects your disdain for Native Americans or Warren if that's your thing or post up something cool about it all ... that way you'll look like a forum contributor instead of whiner & complainer ...

Well, given our iminent Mormon president and the Mormon Church's tremendous rise of power, the archaeologists that are going to matter are the ones who work from the Authority of the Mormon Bible.

People may as well start getting used to this authority, which certainly will be brought into classrooms to provide a balance against arbitrary academic and Creation science espcially as other research confirms the Truth of the Mormon Book.

5 Brainard, G. W. (unpublished notes from Department of Archaeology, Carnegie Institute, Washington, D.C., 1940), pp. 10-42.

Unpublished notes as proof? They were likely "unpublished" due to his colleagues disagreeing with him on what he was looking at.

Slavery in the america's began in Hispaniola with Columbus. He had the entire islands population enslaved upon his second trip to america's. You know, the trip where he brought 1200 soldiers. less than 75 years after his coming to the island all the natives, several million in number, had either died from over work, disease, or punnishment (didn't bring in 30 bushels of selected crops or a hawks beak of gold each month you got both your (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hands chopped off).

The reason slaves started being imported from Africa in the first place was because native Indians died to fast.

Wait, so (by your link), the institutions listed her as a minority, without her knowledge, and she is the bs'er? I'm confused.

Also, who cares? Are people really going to reach so far to 'get' her that they have to dig up dirt on her ancestors? Perhaps focusing on the here and now might be more constructive?

    I guess so!

Who cares? You should. Any politician willing to falsify the information on job applications won't have a problem in doing the same to constituents. Is that who you want representing you?

Your right, missed that. Tho I'm curious as she only identified during her Penn tenure. She didn't previously during her time at the Texas Uni in the 80s, nor after. Nor did she gain anything from said listing, other then her name in Bold in the listing.

I understand what your trying to say, but every politician lies. Romney and his etch-a-sketch comes to mind. Obama's promises promises to hold the recession culprits culpable are another.

I guess it comes down to the actions they take vrs the words they speak. Everything (other then this) I have read and heard from Warren has shown her to be a generally honest, straight talking individual.

Cubed, we need to flush down the toilet the career of ANY politician, regardless of party, who is willing to tell falsehoods.
