    This insanity has to stop.

Soon there will be more people receiving benefits than paying taxes.

When that time comes, the whole system will collapse.

Number of the Week: Half of U.S. Lives in Household Getting Benefits

Obviously the answer is to outsource more jobs, rake in even more record profits for corporations while blaming the working man that they "make too much money".

    Another crap thread.

Maybe if we weren't increasing our population while there aren't enough jobs we wouldn't have this problem? Why are we still letting people immigrate here?

for it to stop, 10% of the people would have to stop making 90% of the wealth I suppose, when so many are living below poverty, something is wrong with the income structure

Instead of blaming the mysterious "job outsourcing" and the evil companies making "record profits", why is there no outcry for the woeful and failing education system, the astronomical increase in college education and the failed government programs that really impact these issues much more than the common "myths" you mention above and propagated by so many on this forum.

I believe the Socialist/Liberals may have won. This was the goal... government dependency.

We will see in the November Election.... if it goes wrong, it's time to bail out. I have a plan B, I hope you other hard working Americans do too.

What ... no liberals want to talk about how it is alright that 50% of the U.S. households are taking some sort of entitlements?

They are TAKING from others... which is the bottom line.

Maybe if there wasn't 8% unemployment and a bad economy. Maybe if we had a President that cared he would try to fix the economy and unemployment. At this time we do not have that kind of president

I wish I could get some benefits.... to fix my roof, A/C and keep the squirrels out of my attic. Then again, we owe our last two years of real estate taxes so after July, the govt will be coming to take my house of 18 years anyway. Then, I guess we could get some benefits to help us put a roof over our head, food in our bellies and maybe even a welfare check to pay us for doing nothing?

The cost of living has risen, jobs are harder to find, and people are struggling and need some assistance. I see no problem with that.

You see no problem with Obama not doing his job and making this country a welfare state

Obama is trying his best. Its not like he can pass any law he likes. The Repubs likely prevent him from doing what he promised.

You mean no budget in over 3 years is his best. Obama has no idea how to be a president

Are you suggesting that he should throw the Congress critters into dungeons or simply bribe them to get them to do their jobs?

Actually, he has. We're still in Iraq and Afghanistan. And because he didn't get congressional approval to send our troops and weaponry over there, Libya is ALL Obama. He can't blame Bush for that one.

The Senate directed Obama to support the UN and to impose a no-fly zone over Libya. If he had refused they would have pushed the House to impeach him. Besides, as part of our treaty obligations to the UN we have to support its decisions to use military force by providing our troops and equipment as necessary. So once the decision was made to impose a no-fly zone we had to support with our military forces. Who did you think was going to do it, Chad and Iceland?

Libya worked and we didn't lose any troops.

Nothing that Bush the Lesser did worked or even made a great deal of sense.

It takes time to disengage after going into a country for no good rerason and destroying their infrastructure.

According to Obama though, we led the charge in Libya. That doesn't sound like someone being "directed" or "obligated" to do anything. Obama was facing calls for his impeachment for NOT seeking congressional approval to send our forces into Libya. So you're saying that Congress was saying "impeach him if he does" and "impeach him if he doesn't"?

All Americans receive benefits of some kind or another from the Government, be it public schools and roads, firefighters, police, etc. It's true that many poor Americans pay no income taxes. However, they do pay payroll taxes, and state and local taxes, so they are certainly making contributions to the Government.

Because someone has to actually work.

Because, at least for one generation, they'll work and vote Democrat.
