    That's a good idea. Prisoners should be doing something to benefit society. Although all the money they 'earn' should be spent within the community in which they committed their crimes, they should never see a penny of that money.

    In Mn we offer "Sentence to service" to minor offenders. I think it's a great program. The criminal works to pay back society even if they cant just pull cash outta their wallet, and the community saves money on mowing the sides of the highway, etc. The program needs to be expanded to include more people/criminals and made a mandatory part of all minor to mid-level restitution programs IMO...
