    Go to 3:15
See the nice woman get shot in the head.

    Now tell me:
So you like seeing movies where murders are comitted?

    robinov_jeff.jpg

This is Jeff robinov- president of warner Brothers who made
the dark Knight movie with the nice murder. Warner Bros made $1 billion
from that movie in 2008. The last joke was on Heath 'the joker' Ledger though - he died of a drug overdose
right after the movie was made.

So.....how cool are murders in movies?

    Cool?
    Very cool?
    Not so great?

Murders in movies are awesome because they're not real.

And he didn't die from an overdose, he accidentally died from combining medications.

    Yeah. World News.

Seven people got shot in Denver.

Warner Brothers makes movies where nice woman gets shot in the head.

How does everyone feel about murders in movies that aren't real?

Compared to murders in denver that are real?

You are trying to suggest the overt exposure to violence and killing, either prompts it, or gives one an artifical perspective of it.

    Yes.

LOL...she wasn't shot in the head...she was dropped out of the window then Batman saves her. The "boom" you hear is the soundtrack.

At least we know you're one of the 5 people who didn't see The Dark Knight.

Jack Nicholson's performance was very good too. Just a different perspective of the joker.

You know what movies were Hitler's favourites? DISNEY.

And nio Disney is owned by jews. You can see that it has changed fom being wholesome to being just another pomoter of smut. ex zombies, vampires, teen sex, interacial and sexually pemissive attitude, adults with suspicious relationships with childen etc etc.

Didn't you know? The lines between Hollywood and current affairs are very blurred to some Americans ;)

Yeah, I think our society's plethora of fictional killing affects people's view of it, desensitising and often glorifying it in some fashion. At least, it will for certain kinds of sick personalities, such as that of this latest madman.

We can hardly eliminate villains as a response to this, though. The best measures of prevention begin at home, with friends and family. No one should be allowed to develop along such dark lines and be left alone to stew. Again, though, this can't always be dealt with. Ultimately, we are facing something that is in a way unstoppable and unpreventable. People have been killing one another since prehistory - it's an unfortunate part of who we are. You can't stop it by any means. We're not all alike, either - there are those among us who are simply rotten, perhaps a bad combination of genetics and upbringing. We can be vigilant and we can arm ourselves, but in the end we can't hope to prevent all such crimes, to stop all such killers before they kill. We can certainly try, though, and I think we should all strive to do so.

    Ha ha.

    So true.

The number of times I have seen Americans use a Hollywood movie as a basis for reality.

Do you like a bit of animation?

I think you will love this.

It is meant as a send up, and a v good one...

It certainly feeds and desensitises, that is what it is intended to do.

    In short.

Proper scientific experiments have been done on the human mind.

One of those, the Milgram experiment, demonstrated that under the right conditions, even normally rational people can be induced, to do terrible things.

    The key?

As long as they feel that someone else in 'authority' says it is okay, or says that there will be no reprisals.

At the outset of the test, it was expected that about 90% of people would be resistant to it.

In reality, only 10% of people were somehow able to be mentally stronger, and hold tightly on to right and wrong.

I strongly suggest people do that.

You are all being induced to be complicit in terrible actions.

    To meekly accept it.

To watch it for a few secs, then turn back to an 'entertainment'.

    Then develop amnesia.

History will record all of those who were silent, or who supported what you see today.

History will also record those, who, in whatever way, were the 10%.

I liked him in the Shining and OFOTCN.

    Not as Joker.

A younger Walken would have made a good Joker.

Is it just me, or do you not see any women being shot in the head in this video? Certainly not at 3:15 where the joker lets go of Rachel.

EDIT: Okay, so I'm not the only one that noticed this.

The title of this thread is based upon something that completely did not happen. Very nice!

We can and should insist that it be toned down. What we're doing as a society is dehumanizing human beings, by the time a kid reaches high school, he's seen thousands of killings, heard thousands of sexual innuendos, and through rap and rock music has probably heard graphic discriptions of rape and cop killing. Then if you go to video games, not only is he witness to thousands of killings, he's a participant. He's actively attempting to kill people with automatic rifles. So when you marinate a child's brain in the idea that murder is entertainment, that people are cannon fodder, and then the child is actively asked to "play the killer" with real looking people, they see it as a potential solution.

I won't say never watch TV, but it's really not good to have kids grow up thinking that problems are best solved by killing people
