My first day of school in the USA, they did the pledge. i stood up the way the rest were doing but I didnt know the words.

When i found out what the words were, I decided it wasnt what I was going to say, and I never have said it.

Im a citizen now, and I love my country. (both of them)

But the "pledge' is not my cup o tea, esp not the god part.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under Tom Cruise, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

If you cannot pledge your allegiance, then you are not a citizen of this country, and are a traitor to it.

Say UNDER GOD clearly next time, pledge your loyalty to our ONCE GREAT NATION, make it GREAT once again.......

Good for you. Don't let any American Taliban try to tell you otherwise!

This nation didn't become great by burning witches and banning Christmas... Nor, of course, by telling immigrants that they're not True Americans™ or True Christians™, or whatever else.

And china is now number one, perhaps by keeping the older system of personal responsibility (confucinism).

I trust you are joking, but one cant readily tell; poes law, and so on.

If you are not joking then maybe you are a fan of "The Turner Diaries'?

You know, where traitors are also people who dilute the white race, and they are to be hanged from lamp posts? Let alone what happens to the awful asian alien atheists who connive them into this sin.

Would you say America was not a great country during World War 2?

They didn't say "under God" back then, so clearly they must not have been great.

I could pledge allegiance to the US, but it wouldn't be sincere, me not being American and all.

I am American, and it still wouldn't be sincere.

Their is no requirement in the Constitution or any law for anyone to make any pledge of allegiance to this great nation. In fact by law and the Constitution we do not have to agree with you or our laws or our Constitution. If you wish to continue in your foolish attempts to force others to agree with YOUR religious beliefs, have at it, but do not expect any results. You might consider working on a Constitutional ammendment, it only requires two thirds of the States to agree with you. Now that I think about it that is unlikely. No single religion in the US has even a third of the total population. Whatever religion yours is, I doubt that even one citizen in ten is a member of you specific religion.

By the way, I chose to say the pledge, the way I learner it in 1952, without the religious nonsense. Oh, and I am a citizen and a military vet, who unlike many, put my life on the line and left blood on foreign soil to support any Americans right to any religion or to none. I also did it to support the right of any American to say or not say the pledge, to fly our flag or burn it. In otherwords I fought to support the Constitution and any citizens right to choose to be an idiot. I doubt you can say the same.

You would risk life and limb, blood and bone, for your country, but can't utter a few words to pledge your allegiance to our ONCE GREAT NATION???

That doesn't make any sense at all

If you dont believe in god and the pledge then leave the country because you have no right to live here. True americans believe in god.

    Jedi, you're correct once again!

TRUE Americans love GOD, because we know that GOD is the only thing that our nation can truly rely on...........

We cannot rely on mankind, as mankind is prone to corruption. Look at Obama and our politicians today......................

WE MUST RELY ON GOD to further our greatness and prosperity, on LAWS that are ABSOLUTE and permanent...........

Actually, I am a citizen and have exactly the same right to live here as any other citizen.

I will come and go as I please and it is none of anyone else's business.

If you believe in the Christian god, then surely you are aware that it is against its rules to speak falsehoods. The lack of concern for that is something I've often noted with "Christians'. Its quite odd, I wonder what the explanation could be.

Regarding "true Americans' btw, I wonder about the native americans. They were not "true" until they were coerced into adopting the middle eastern sky god?

Could we hear some examples of laws that are absolute and permanent?

Given that the Bible forbids idolatry, it clearly forbids swearing allegiance to a piece of cloth.

Conclusion: Heretic is not a Christian, being that he specifically demands people do what the Bible forbids.

Not from me, I'm not GOD. I'm ignorant of absolute and permanent laws of the universe. This is why I SEEK GOD, try to KNOW HIM, and follow the PATH OF CHRIST. I want to KNOW about absolute and permanent laws, but, I am just a humble human. One of the best universal laws, is the theory of gravity. This is a good attempt to understand one of God's Laws. The Golden Rule is also one of God's Laws, morally and ethically. Do unto others as they would do unto you! This means, LEAD BY EXAMPLE!

These are truly great CHRISTIAN principles. Atheists cannot hope to achieve anything CHRISTIANITY has already achieved.
