Maybe you should be voting for those Great People?

....rather than not voting and not participating in your government and your country at any level....

Let me guess, the "great people" in the Republican party are those who sell out their values and compromise with liberalism.

    Correct?

I am still in stage one, which is trying to put those people on the ticket, YOU on the other hand jumped through that step and picked the bait of the fraud already.

Hmm you're right. Which is why Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are great choices to go with IMO :) I actually had considered Jill Stein but then decided to switch to Gary Johnson mainly because I think Jill Stein is more of a weaker candidate. She doesn't have the presence that Ralph Nader had let alone even come close to all the thunder Gary Johnson is drumming up.

    Don't worry.

The Tea Party is taking over the GOP as time goes on. Rome wasn't built in a day, y'know.

The title of this thread is correct. Conservatives are not in charge of the GOP. As much as they bellow and bray, the nominee of the Republican Party is not a Conservative. The Conservative candidates proved to be totally ineffective campaigners. Michelle Bachmann, Rick "Oops!" Perry, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Li'l Ricky Santorum are sitting on the outside looking in.

Conservatives are loud and have many influential mouthpieces doing their bidding. Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity and Beck do a sterling job of disseminating the message of Conservative exclusion and division. Yet the realization that Conservatives are a minority in a minority party has not sunk into the Conservative mindset.

Refusal to compromise is the hallmark of contemporary Conservatism. While Conservatives celebrate the Founding Fathers as political apostles endowed with Divine wisdom where crafting a government is concerned, those same Conservatives have utterly failed to understand the true genius of the Founders: their ability to strike amenable and effective compromise. Without compromise, the constitution would never have left the desks of Independence Hall. Still Conservatives are ready, willing but not quite able to bully their political views on any and all opposition.

Why do you keep pushing for people to vote for Romney? We don't want progressives who embrace liberalism!

    Personally, I don't think they're so "great".

Not sure about the progressive part, but I do want candidates that embrace liberalism. Classic liberalism.

Small government, low taxes, maximized personal freedom. It's disgusting how American politics has bastardized the term.
