there are tens of thousands of U.S. military retirees living in Mexico.... most of them republicans, by the way... do you question THEIR patriotism as well? Are you saying that someone who served in harm's way for twenty plus years protecting YOUR freedoms cannot move to a warm climate and live well in their retired years without having their patriotism questioned?

    GFY...literally... with a rusty pipe.

same point to you. There are lots of retired military living in Mexico... the vast majority of them are retired enlisted men and women and the vast majority of them are republicans... and they can live quite nicely on the modest retirement that the military pays them. Are you suggesting that they are not patriots when they devoted the bulk of their adult lives serving the United States in harm's way?

I DESPISE Obama care. But not because I dont like the concept. I just think it didnt go far enough. I wish he had the nuts to truely create a universal health care single payer system here in America. Sadly, he caved and let the insurance companies derail him.

I dont like Obamacare because its not good ENOUGH. We can do FAR better, and ensure that people who need life saving care, receive it, regardless of ability to pay.

I don't believe I'm an "Obama Supporter" in the way that you define the term. In fact I've never even lived in the United States, so I hope you'll consider my feedback somewhat objective.

You make some assumptions. First of all, many people, regardless of political party, do not vote based on short-term economic issues or economic issues at all. I've only voted twice due to my age, but neither time did I consider the economy. I tend to vote based on issues related to foreign affairs and electoral reform. Many people think other issues to be more important to them or more important to society at large. I generally support the idea that everybody should just vote based on the one or two issues they consider themselves well educated about. After all, it's a fantasy to expect everybody to have an evidence based understanding of every political issue.

Second, you also appear to believe that the state of the economy is completely determined by the president. It is not. The president controls the executive branch of the American federal government, but not the legislative branch. The president also does not control the state governments, the municipal governments, or the 300 million American individuals who are not in government. Regardless of whether the president is democrat or republican, I don't think it's wise to assume that a bad economy is the president's fault and that a good economy is the president's achievement.

Not sure what your point is here. Companies that outsource jobs are evil, but military retirees who outsource US currency are patriots?

Look, I don't care where you live, but judging by your ID, you seem to be bragging... like you're pulling something over on the rest of us. I just don't happen to see it that way, that's all.

Will you be mailing in your ballot for Obama or do you actually have to appear in person to vote?

This, Smartmouthwoman, is what most Americans oppose more than anything. And the limp wristed, half assed, "compassionate", progressive, in-fact-left-wing, candidates your party has been offering up as a solution are not good enough anymore. Your party needs to stop trying to emulate the opposition. Your party needs to oppose the opposition, or die.

And it would be nice if we had an option to choose a candidate whom doesn't buy into the Keynesian economic pipe dream that both parties have bought since Hoover.

Nope. I just question yours. "Tens of thousands" of U.S. military retirees living in Mexico aren't joining internet forums and posting pictures of themselves holding an American flag to prove their patriotism. Real patriots have nothing to prove.

Hit close to home, didn't it?

We don't have time to meet & greet your PERFECT CANDIDATE just now, but after Romney gets settled into the WH, we'll talk about who you have in mind. Job 1 is getting Obama out.

that picture is 30 years old... taken while I was serving on detached duty with the United Nations in Lebanon... I took some time off to go explore Egypt. Pretty cool. Think of what an infinitesimal percentage of people who have lived on this planet in the last 4000 years have ever climbed to the top of the great Pyramid. Again... I served for a quarter of a century, I retired, and you, as part of a grateful nation, send me a healthy paycheck every single month. Your welcome for my service on your behalf.

are citizens who vacation in Europe unpatriotic as well? I pay US taxes on every penny I make, even though I am not there to avail myself of any of the benefits those taxes provide citizens who live there. I will actually be dropping off my absentee ballot at the local US consulate and it will travel to the states in the diplomatic pouch.

I get it. I really do. You served a grateful nation that you don't see fit to live in and you get mad when people question your patriotism. You're conflicted. This psychological analysis is a complementary gift from a grateful American.

Why did you stop at 5?

    6. 49% of Americans pay no taxes.

    7. National debt up from $10T to $16T in 3.5 years.

    8. Average income down from ~$55T to ~$51T.

    9. Medicare robbed of over $700B.

    10. Socialized medicine that 60% of Americans oppose.

my patriotism and my domicile are not linked. Living in Mexico is a grand adventure. As my avatar shows, I am a guy who likes grand adventures. Your gratitude is accepted and expected, actually. And trust me, there is no conflict whatsoever... I am living large and loving every minute of it. This is way too much fun to stop now.

Hey to SMW and to all the Conservatives, grinding and knashing your teeth. Smashingly successful Democratic Convention has just demolished Romney/Ryan delusion of taking the country back.

You are welcome to join the rest of the country, that is, the other 70%, who want to go forward, rather than go back, but if that is unacceptable to you, then please feel free to flee to your tax haven countries like Switzerland and Cayman islands.

We will not miss you at all. We the People of USA will forge ahead, and build a new 21st century infrastructure, and a system which not depend on your greed, lust for power, and corrupt buying of Congress with your Capital Gains revenue.

I thought job #1 was job creation and the economy? This is where the GOP failed miserably.

What do you mean "drastically change directions"?
How do you know who he has met with? Are you in the White House every day?
Again,it is not the POTUS'S responsibility to create jobs,it is however the Congress' job to help create situations for job growth. OBAMA & his administration has created those situations for 4.2 million jobs in the private sector.
However,in their never ending whining about shrinking Government, the GOP has managed to cut federal employee's jobs which have contributed to the suffering you are talking about & the unemployment #'s hovering around 8%.
And about the money, part of the POTUS' "plan" is reforming the tax code,so the top 1% starts paying their fair share-(you know this)-One more of OBAMA'S plan is to give the middle class relief from paying what those tax loop holes give the top 1%. You also know the GOP is fighting our POTUS tooth & nail on that.
And what are you talking about " not waving OBAMA'S FLAG" ? I have never wavered in my support in our POTUS & I stand proudly with him.
Last night's speeches at the Democratic Convention were awesome-Positive-Positive excitement-told you it would be a breath of fresh air for you!
And just a note for you on the GOP Convention----(the reason I haven't had a chance to get back on the forum for the last 5 days)is our Democratic Headquarters here in Nevada has been unindated with GOP'S changing party affiliation to Democrat-- Nevada in the last month has registered over 12,000 voters opposed to the GOP'S 5,000 (numbers rounded off,& that's just August's #'s)I'm telling you--what you might be hearing on Fox news-isn't what is happening out here in the real world-the GOP or ex-GOP are embarrassed, they cannot believe this is the party that they have supported in the past & what is surprizing is the # of older men coming in with their wives, making their party change like a celebration or liberating ---just saying it has been stand up & clapping for these people to finally open their eyes. Amazing OBAMA 2012

I've posted his official WH schedule nearly every day he's been in office... so yeah, you might say I'm in the office with him everyday. He does little or nothing... except campaign. He hasn't met with his own jobs council... or the leaders of his own party... in months. He doesn't address congress... he doesn't do frequent press conferences. He's a one-man-show. Who then has the nerve to accuse Republicans of not cooperating. He doesn't know the meaning of the word.

The speeches last night were predictable and lame and the nation was watching football and not Slick Willie. (Who BTW, bombed to everyone except 'bots)

Point is... Obama is dropping in the polls and has still offered NO CHANGE in the failed policies of his first 4 years. IOW, throw taxpayer money at problems and hope it helps.

Why the hatred for America's middle class, Obama supporters?

Why do you hate America's middle class, SK? You know who this gigantic new tax is going to hurt the worst, don't you? It won't be the 1% I can assure you.

You cannot be serious! If all the productive citizens (those of us working and paying taxes) leave, that hind teat the rest of you are sucking on will dry up and then what will you do? Follow us to the Caymans?

Some say we'll see an increase in hiring during the month of January if Romney wins the election. The mere fact Obama is out of office will be enough to bump the economy

Guess we'll have to wait and see, huh? ;)
