Social Security Helped Pay For Paul Ryan To Go To College

So he used the social security system to help pay for college, but wants to slash and burn it now that he has no more use for it?

 

If only liberals spent as much time actually being productive in society.

 

How do you know that he wouldn't have been just fine without it?

It was obviously his by law so he took it, doesn't mean he relied on it.

 

They didn't have to apply for it, the law states they are entitled, but not forced to take it. Survivors bennies in his case

He took it, saved it, and used it to pay for college. He obviously benefited from social security system.

 

What does taking it have to do with his stance on the issue? I'd like to see it go away also but as long as its here I'm going to use it if its available. That doesn't mean I need it.

You should also have noticed by now that Romney paid 2,000,000 in taxes, and gave another 4,000,000 to charity. Pay attention.

He's just the latest in a long line of Republicans that want to take government money while keeping everyone else poor. We have a guy here in Eastern Wa running for something that wants to stop government entitlements- but he got 100 grand over the years in farm subsidies.

Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney's plans may not be perfect, but at least they could get us on the right track toward solvency and economic recovery.

Social Security isn't the government's money. Its our money... People who work their whole lives, and near the end, if they live long enough, they get to get some of that money back. If they die, some of that money goes to their offspring. Right?

It'd be like me taking $100 from you every month of your life, and then at the end, giving you back some of the money you've given me throughout your life. That's your money though, you're entitled to it. And, as it stands, mismanagement over the years has squandered what was once a good Social Security program, our country is deep in debt on borrowed money, and seniors now tend to have little of a safety net - they depend almost entirely on Social Security. So when government cannot afford to send them their checks, when government fails, all those people that depend on Social Security fail as well. We cannot continue to operate with trillion dollar deficits, printing and borrowing money, and stacking up mountains of debt that we cannot afford to pay, and pass the bill along to future generations. Their future will be very bleak if we continue the reckless spending and fiscal irresponsibility the politicians have given us.

 

When did Social security become "Government money"? As I recall, Everyone with a social security card pays into it for retirement. Its not free money like welfare or food stamps. So the who ridiculous premise of this thread is just another Paul Ryan bashing. Geeze if you libs spent but a fraction of your time investigating Obummers ultra corruption, you just might be convinced how evil he really is..

And why won't Romney release his tax returns? What purpose would there be in not releasing say...five years worth of them? What is he hiding?

I don't care if a 16 year old used his dead dads SS to pay for collage. That was a very smart thing for him to do and a good use of the money. If he changed his views later in life I am nit going to hold that against a 16 year old kid.

So what? I used VA benefits to go to collage. Was what he did illegal? No. Faux outrage issue by leftist losers to keep from talking about the real issues, which are that Obama is a big assed failure at everything.

 

Republicans can't use government programs, then try to end them through privitization, after they don't need them any longer. We're on to their game, its about ending handouts, not expanding them.
