All reptilian jokes aside, rather than ask the people on here why they believe the government intends to round us up and shove us in camps, ask yourself why this bill ever hit the floor? Why did someone think we needed these?

If to house people after evacs, why the caging? Why not vouchers for hotels? If in case of viral outbreak, why not a hospital? If to house POWs, who are we going to war with? I'm clueless as to how this got on the floor and why it was proposed. Of course, it will cause conspiracy chatter because there isn't reason for this design.

How is it a conspiracy if it's in the open? The bill was introduced into Congress, it's a matter of public record, no "conspiracy" here.

 

Nothing like complaining about what they complained about in the first place, lack of preparedness for Katrina or other disasters.

 

So you believe that these are for disaster preparedness? Cool.

My only concern is this:

I don't like the idea of creating centers in the middle of military bases. It's not a clear separation of powers, to me. I would prefer vouchers because a) it doesn't have that Soviet-esque quality to it, b) we don't have huge disasters all that often, and c) it would also help local businesses.

Probably more than than the combination of both what the US could "lock up" in our Japanese-American Internment Camps and the Nazis could "lock up" at Aushwitz, Dachau, Bergen-Belsen, etc.

Problem is that alot of the people who were "locked up" never actually left.

LOL. You're completely missing the principle of the situation. This exact sort of thing has been done in the past by the US government, while some of the people on this very forum were alive! What makes you think that if a government has the power to round up 100,000 people and lock them up in concentration camps, that they would stop there?

Why would you put people even on a military base in the same town as a disaster? Why wouldn't you want them out of town where it is safer?

Obama signed an Executive Order on March 16 of this year on 'National Defense Resources Preparedness'. This order essentially allows the executive branch control of all our resources, not just for a declared national emergency, but for 'national security'.

Did you read the bill? Have you realized how dangerous Americans were in? The bill formed and introduced right under our nose.

There is answer for it. But most people don't believe it. The whistleblowers, informats, etc come out and tell us that there are a few groups of people who have been plotting all these years to bring their agenda that's most of us won't like.

"The 2012 NDAA deemed the United States a "battlefield," as Senator Lindsey Graham put it, and gave the president and his agents the right to seize and arrest any U.S. citizen, detain them indefinitely without charge or trial, and do so only on suspicion, without any judicial oversight or due process. The new Executive Order states that the president and his secretaries have the authority to commandeer all U.S. domestic resources, including food and water, as well as seize all energy and transportation infrastructure inside the borders of the United States. The Government can also forcibly draft U.S. citizens into the military and force U.S. citizens to fulfill "labor requirements" for the purposes of "national defense." There is not even any Congressional oversight allowed, only briefings.

In the NDAA, only the president had the authority to abrogate legitimate freedoms of U.S. citizens. What is extraordinary in the new Executive Order is that this supreme power is designated through the president to the secretaries that run the Government itself:

• The Secretary of Defense has power over all water resources;
• The Secretary of Commerce has power over all material services and facilities, including construction materials;
• The Secretary of Transportation has power over all forms of civilian transportation;
• The Secretary of Agriculture has power over food resources and facilities, livestock plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment;
• The Secretary of Health and Human Services has power over all health resources;
• The Secretary of Energy has power over all forms of energy."

How could this bill get passed? we are now basically living under totalitarian rule, why we allow this to happen?
