I'm all for standing in line and voting, but as a soldier I have used absentee voting as I was out of the country.

I use early voting. The lines are shorter. The location has a lot more parking, including handicapped spaces. The regular polling place has only a few handicapped parking spaces

I vote on the 16th so in a few days. I always vote by mail whenever possible then on election day I go vote for my neighbor who's so old he doesn't bother and since we don't have any voter ID laws I essentially get two votes.

There, finally, proof we need for voter id laws. If they don't admit they are doing it there is no way to know they are voting illegally without checking id.

absentee ballots have been around for a long time and make sense for someone who is going to be out of town on election day.

Early voting originally was started to allow people who had to work on tuesday to vote on their day off. 30 days before the election is too long, a week or 10 days is sufficient. In the 30 days prior to the election a lot can change and once you vote, you cannot take it back or change it.

I hope you are trying to be clever, if not, you are breaking the law and should be arrested. Where do you live and what is your name? :whisper:

Count me in, just received mine.

Edit, leaves more time to chauffeur people to the voting places.

Nope, I just see to it that those who can't drive themselves get there upon request.

Most people have made up their minds way ahead of time. They may not be able to drive themselves, but that doesn't mean they are naive...not to mention our integrity.
Some might see this as a perfect opportunity, but to us its a commitment to serve, nothing less, nothing more.

I like absentee voting because I can sit in front of my computer and research candidates I've never heard of before, like circuit judges, and make an informed vote based on their actual record that I look up on the internet. Something you can't do in a voting booth.

Also, I don't have to take time off of work to vote.

If they can't drive themselves to the polling places odds are they're Democrats. So helping them rigs the game to get more Democratic votes.

I stopped on the way home today and voted and I was SHOCKED at how many people were doing the same thing! I got there around 3:30 and the place was jumping! I've voted at this same location all my life and I've NEVER seen that many there.

Good sign. We know which side is the most psyched up in this election. Romney's gonna win by a landslide! *crosses fingers & toes*

I voted early as well (Gary Johnson).

@Smartmouthwoman: Not to mention that I recently heard that so far, three million people have already voted and this was before I had a chance at early voting.
