I know it’s a risk to bring up the deficit when it’s still above one trillion, but considering how Romney has been repeatedly accusing the president of “doubling the deficit,” when in fact the CBO report from Friday proves that Obama cut the deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars, this is something that’s worthy of bragging. And next year’s projections indicate a $900 billion deficit, giving the president a four year total of $500 billion in deficit reduction.

This is with zero help from the Republicans whose nominee intends to add $5 trillion to the deficit with another massively irresponsible tax cut. It’s also worth noting that President Bush, in his first term, added $400 billion to the deficit while also eliminating a $200 billion surplus leaving a grand total of $600 billion in fiscal irresponsibility.

In modern history, I can name two Democratic presidents who have cut the deficit. Clinton and Obama. Can anyone name just one Republican president who did the same? Not Bush 43, not Bush 41, not Reagan, not Ford, not Nixon.

There's a great deal more than that.

1. Nutter Republicans. These include the religious right and backwards ideas on marriage, gay rights, woman rights, sex and birth control. Seriously it scares a lot of people. Fiscally conservative individuals don't want to be lumped into the same category as these guys.

2. Religion Nutters. See above. The country is becoming more agnostic and that's a good thing.

3. War nutters. The majority of Americans are becoming more educated when in comes to foreign policies and we don't want to get drawn into another right wing war. Obama has failed in this regard on many levels, but romney would have been worse

4. Birther Nutters. From trump to the inbred, most Americans are tired of it. Tired of the slick racism or fear tactics used.


I'm neither right nor left and this election I didn't vote because I never vote. Many of my friends voted for Obama, and like me, they are relatively successful. They don't want anything from the government or handouts from anyone. They voted for Obama based on social issues which the republicans are seriously lacking in. Ditch the religious right and backwards ideals (mentioned above) and you'll get more votes.

 

I agree that there is a very large group of hedonists under 30 in America thanks to liberal brainwashing in the public schools combined with pop culture.

The sex zombies do vote and they voted for Obama.

But I think the biggest reason Obama voters become Obama voters is the free stuff they expect from the welfare president.
