'Everyone in US under virtual surveillance' - NSA whistleblower

The FBI records the emails of nearly all US citizens, including members of congress, according to NSA whistleblower William Binney. In an interview with RT, he warned that the government can use this information against anyone.

Binney, one of the best mathematicians and code breakers in the history of the National Security Agency, resigned in 2001. He claimed he no longer wanted to be associated with alleged violations of the Constitution, such as how the FBI engages in widespread and pervasive surveillance through powerful devices called 'Naris.'

This year, Binney received the Callaway award, an annual prize that recognizes those who champion constitutional rights and American values at great risk to their personal or professional lives.

There's an interview there as well, both in print and video.

I think the system can be abused and it should be a felony to abuse the system, but I also think the system is needed, we just need to keep companies like the media companies from redefining terrorists, they actually want to be included in the patriot act, make Napster users considered terrorists

I also think any information gathered should only be able to be used in a criminal case if it was one of the following, terroristic in nature, or they got a warrant first

    Yes, spiffing.

I know...let us try to export a version of it, the others will love it also.

    Hurrah for it.

I am sure exporting it will bring only light.

This is complete conspiracy garbage. There is no possible way that anyone could monitor all e-mail, phone and or internet correspondence in the US. It is completely impossible. There is not a computer large enough to monitor it. And even if there were, there are not enough humans on planet earth to possibly sift thru the flagged material and sort out what is a real threat and what is said matter of factly.

Just more garbage from the schitzophrenic alarmist community.

Also, I have to say that the standard and methods of 'policing' in the US, are not that of the Land of the free..

US police officers fire 137 shots to kill 2 unarmed suspects

Tensions are on the rise in the major US city of Cleveland after 13 predominantly white police officers fired 137 shots to kill two unarmed African Americans following a 25-minute car chase.

Family members of the two victims, 30-year-old Malissa Williams and 43-year-old Timothy Russell are outraged over the incident, which took place Thursday night near the Justice Center in downtown Cleveland when several people claimed they heard a gunshot, leading to a high speed police chase after the couple’s vehicle and their killing, local media outlets reported.

The reports have not yet indicated how the victims became suspects, prompting the long car chase and what prompted so many police officers to shoot the victims so many times, terrifying neighbors near a middle school, according to some news accounts.

Although a chasing police officer has claimed that the suspects pointed a gun at them during the chase, no weapons have been found in their vehicle and no bullet shell casings have been located outside the downtown building or along the route of the police chase.

Moreover, 12 of the 13 police officers involved in the brutal shooting have been identified as white, including five veteran detectives. The other police officer involved is reportedly Hispanic.

This has led many people to believe that the police shooting was racially motivated and part of a national trend in which a growing number of African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities have been targeted by mostly white American police forces.

Meanwhile dozens of local residents staged a protest rally in Cleveland on Monday, outside the middle school where the police shooting occurred, demanding answers for the brutal killing.

Some people in the group referred to the killings as a "lynching" and one protest sign compared the killing of the two African Americans to infamous American criminals "Bonnie and Clyde."

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, meanwhile, expressed his own concerns about all aspects of the incidents, from the length of the pursuit to the number of officers involved.

yep, it's illogical to think everyone is under virtual surveillance, look at the source

the trailblazer project ran over budget, failed to accomplish critical goals and was cancelled

and in the interview, binney says there's a target list, i can guarantee you that everyone isn't on that list

    1) I'd imagine Yottabytes of data. Nobody can sift through that data in several lifetimes.
    2) If you are talking about illegal activities, and you get caught.... so what? Don't do illegal (*)(*)(*)(*).
    3) Considering point 1, I doubt anyone cares if you are sending pics of your todger to your ex.

If they want to monitor my emails, then that's just a waste of tax dollars... but the "invasion" doesn't really bother me.
