Its funny you find a picture of some freak to represent people that like guns and support the right of this country's law abiding citizens to keep their guns. Whether people will admit it or not guns are not the problem in this country. The problem is the complete lack of morals of the citizens of this country. Guns have been a part of this country since the beginning and never have they been the issue. As for your picture of the fighter jet.... Lets just say I'll take my chances and keep my guns no matter what the government decides.
Yeah! I mean, its not like any "freaks" are license holders or professional gun trainers or anything in this country!
The NRA is 4 million members and growing, most with AR-15's and living in the general population. Wonder how the Air Force would stage an attack.
First, I don't know any American pilot who would bomb an American city or kill American citizens. If the President ordered the Air Force to do that, my guess is the Air Force pilot would set a different target instead. I won't say who. Second, if government has M-16s, how are we supposed to defeat them with muskets? Third, there are 300,000,000 guns in this country. The federal government can field, at the most, 1,000,000 soldiers, almost all of which would refuse to shoot at civilians. So I think the odds are much more in our favor. But if you take away those guns, then government can do anything it wants, and no one could tell them different.
Since I didn't watch the video that you posted I'm not sure if your being critical or what, but I will say this. Guns have done way more good in this country than they have done bad. Proof is watching a class of 4H students trap shoot and seeing thier eyes light up when they do well, or watching a child take his/her first deer. But then again most of the anti gun people don't get to see that. They spend thier time trying to pass some silly laws that won't work because criminals don't obey laws. If your too blind to see that the majority of the gun owners in this country are NOT freaks that are stupid, then it truely is a lost cause to hope that you will ever understand. As I stated in my previous post I respect your right to NOT OWN guns. In fact I wish you lived closer so when the thugs of the world wanted to come pay a visit they would know just where to go. Enjoy your right, but don't cry when there isn't a cop around to protect you. Simply stated, I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop....
I'm picturing a freak....to represent people who think they can take their Glock and 30-06 and fight a "revolution" against a Government packing F-16s and Apache gunships.
You just contradicted yourself in your "First...." If the military would turn on such a President....then you don't need an armed CIVILIAN population, do you? See? It's the paradox you guys build for yourself. You say you need your guns for an "armed revolt" against a tyrannical Federal Government.....but you can't criticize the US military or (by your own standards from years back) aren't a patriot......but then that leaves you no reason for armed civilians...if the military will be on YOUR side, not the "tyrant's".
I imagine the Tories saying something like the scare tactics of the OP. This is you: This is the British Army: YOU CAN NEVER WIN! THERE'S ONLY ONE OF YOU, AND YOU'RE A CARTOON! BOW TO THE MIGHT OF THE GREATEST MILITARY ON EARTH!
You just built most of your case on the idea that U.S. soldiers wouldn't attack civilians, and then arrived at the conclusion that without your guns, you won't be able to protect yourself. Sadly, if the day ever arrived where the U.S. government had the soldiers and the desire to subjugate America, they could do it. Hunting rifles and 9mm pistols are no match for tanks and laser guided bombs. For your guns to actually protect you against the government, you would need a fighting force of somewhat equal training and equipment. I'm kind of playing devil's advocate here, because I don't support gun bans or confiscations. But, I support the 2nd amendment from a personal protection standpoint, not because I actually believe we need them to ward off the government or that they would actually make a difference in that regard.
Let me tell you what will happen if the Federal Government decides to go insane. 1. The military will fracture with the majority being mostly right leaning people who would dominate the other half. 2. The military will not fire on the American people if there is a clear national revolt against the government. 3. The losing side will most likely be the left wingers and they won't last five seconds.
Why, in your scenario, are the "leftists" the "losing" side when you just said the military wouldn't fire on the American people?
Be that as it may, your post still basically says all gun owners are mullet wearing hicks that have no clue when in fact that is not the case. Most law abiding gun owners are normal people that just dont want the government telling them they cant enjoy something that is not the problem. All these anti gun folks on here preach that gun owners are putting them at risk by owning a gun, when in fact statistics prove your more likely to kill me with your car than I am to kill you with my gun..... hmmmm give that some thought. As for fighting a revolution against the government, I agree, but that doesnt give them the right to stop me from having them.
