Obama was faced with the problem of one of his mentors, Bill Clinton, specifically recommending the same thing. Kind of hard to be against it while other prominent people in your party are on record for being for it.

It just shows how this is nothing but a political issue the left is trying to milk to shore up support with their base.

Make certain you stay on your folks in Congress. All have email addresses. Crush

If these gun grabbers actually came out and said that they've compiled a list of the top 10 guns used in homicides each year in America and they want to ban those I would at least have some respect for them because that may actually reduce gun violence.

Instead they are simply pandering to their base over a weapon not used in that many deaths only because it looks bad.

    Its a joke.

you know only 15% of the Senate Democrats have ever received any donations from the NRA, think they would be happy to pass some bills wouldn't you . I highly urge any of you fine folks who live in N Carolina, Montana, S Dakota. Louisiana etc and have a Senate Democrat up for reelection to be writing them and urging them to at least write a few anti gun bills even if Harry Reid that bastion of Senate Liberalism won't send them to the floor, speaking of which the good people of Nevada might want to replace him as soon as possible with some rabid anti gun candidate. Also you should find some anti gun Dems to replace those pro gun Dems in the house also. I am sure they would walk away with the vote in places like W Va, Utah, Texas etc. Lets party like it is 1994

    .....

    1) Do you ever tire of using the same old tired words like 'bullcrap'???

    2) The NRA is in deep doo-doo! You know it, that's why you are so vehement in your explosive reply.

    3) What President Obama was saying is that he rejected the idea that MORE guns in elementary schools is not the way to go for the children's future mental outlook. That we cannot fill elementary schools with armed guards in order for our children to get an education without getting murdered in the process. We must remove the guns without turning our schools into armed camps.

quite the contrary , we should be urging all the Senate Democrats in the Western and rural states to get solidly behind the anti gun movement. It will never pass the House and the GOP captured 8 Senate seats the last time the Dems pulled this crap. Which is exactly why none of this (*)(*)(*)(*) means anything, Obama can Huff and Puff post it all day long and nothing will ever get to the floor. It's just BS to pacify the sheeples of their base

My old Aussie Mathilda would have torn off the face of an intruder, all 60 pounds of her. She loved us so and was such a good watchdog. My little critter that I now have is a good watchdog but at 17 pounds, not so much bite with her bark.

    I just did.

I suppose you never considered that it is the author who is engaging in hyperbole and the like.

Harry Reid is not going to risk an AWB. Obama is just posing with kids while Rome burns.

Our Second Amendment clearly enumerates what is necessary to the security of a free State.

Liberals in rural states might as well vote Republican if they expect gun control. All this current hoopla is just to make the sheeple libs feel like Obama is trying but the mean old NRA is stopping him. Reid won't even allow a magazine restriction bill to hit the floor, let alone anything with any meat in it. Libs just made AR15's , AK's etc triple in value. I am sure many people that the libs would love to hate just made a buttload of money thanks to this dog and pony show

You haven't been paying attention. One of Obama's planned Executive Orders is to increase the number of armed people in schools.

    ......

...and our presumed sense of morality clearly enumerates the needless deaths of 20 1st graders and their teachers in only the most recent example of the carnage that is regularly sweeping our country thru easy access to guns...and the aftermath of same.

When Americans are killing other Americans with guns, when does our outrage reach the point of actually disregarding the NRA's "donations' in order to pass some meaningful legislation with some teeth to it?

The rights of gun owners and school children getting murdered are clearly on a collision course, and the school children will win this time.

You can figure that from this point forward the OP is going to cut and paste every Huffpo anti-gun article that comes out.

where is the empathy for the thousands upon thousands of African Americans are murdered annually in the United States, 93% of these them perpetrated by other blacks

seems a bit racist to get all worked up for weeks on end about 20 white kids when blacks are in all out war against other blacks

So, what objection can there be to being necessary to the security of a free State in modern times?

None of us had a firearm. It was just acting on a tipoff for cannabis plants growing in the back yard, hence our point man going over the fence first (hehehehehe!). I was working in a squad that investigated livestock and rural crimes and we didn't carry on a regular basis. We had them but usually locked them away in the office safe. When we took our colleague to the ER we got kicked out by the nurses for laughing too much.....

well cutting and pasting articles that no one cares about except the people that read Huff and Puff anyway is easier than writing to their legislators and doing something constructive about issues
