If the Republican party is 'destroyed' then the union will collapse. If the Democrats want this American union to stay together then it's in their best interest to keep the Republican party as a viable political opposition.

Sure. Conservatism caused Obama-Care (a trillion dollar white elephant). And the miserable failure of the job stimulus. And the pouring of money down the Solyndra rat hole. And the extreme rise in food stamp participation (as pushed by the Dept. of Agriculture under Ken Salazar). And the rise in SS disability pensions. And the phone give aways. And the endless unemployment benefits that gets handed out like candy. And the take over of the auto industry and student loan program, etc. etc. etc. All the fault of conservatives.....(*)(*)(*)(*) them!
