Sorry, disagree. "Return of the Living Dead" (mostly the original flick) zombies are much more dangerous than "Fast and Dumb" zombies of the current incarnation. Remember the scene? EMT guys show up at the cemetary and the zombies kill and eat them, and a zombie gets on the radio and calls the EMT HQ and says "Send more ambulances". Plus they still run ...flat-out...like the 2004 "Dawn of the Dead" Zeds.

BTW, apparently forgot one "Slow and smart" also includes the new flick romantic-horror "Warm Bodies". :)

I think smart zombies are cheesy, because its unrealistic (yes I just made an argument for something being unrealistic for zombies). Zombies whether undead or alive and infected are supposed to have their brains rotted by a virus, having them be able to reason or having any type of higher brain function ruins it for me. Another vital part of the zombie genre for me is the utter hopeless of it all. I am not a fan or humanity overcoming the zombie apocalypse, I like the storyline to be about a person or group's short lived struggle to survive as long as possible before their certain untimely death.

If you want an intelligent horror threat I say serial killers, demons ..... or robots are the way to go. :)

I enjoyed both seasons of American Horror Story...

I am very much looking forward to the 3rd season, as most of the season 1 cast, with the exception of Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton, & Zachary Quinto, has signed on...

They still could get those three though...

I think season 3 is gonna be a political-based thriller...

There were some clues in season 2, including one big one in the last episode...

I really like that they decided to keep whatever cast they could throughout the seasons.

Hopefully season three doesn't continue the alien plot line. Writing otherwise has been great, its gory and graphic at times but not over the top. I think Jessica Lange is great for the horror genre. Zachary's character in the second season had a great twist, I never suspected him to be bloody face, he does ok acting. Dylan's acting was great in both seasons, I hope he returns. I also hope Chole Sevigny does more seasons with bigger roles.

Just wanted to add that I think Even Peter's has done a superb job and find him to absolutely adorable. He is not a type I am usually attracted to, but there is something about him that is very endearing ... which is also something that usually doesn't peak my interest.

No, it's a completely different story, like the change from the 1st to the 2nd season...

That's the plan for the whole series, to present a new story every season...

I think it's gonna take place, at least partly, in DC, because of the room Lana was interviewed in during the last episode...

But, they said it's take in 3 or so different cities, as a whole...

He was great in both seasons...

Well it depends on the "causation". In ROTLD, it was a chemical which re-animated the dead, as they were (including higher brain function), but in terrible pain and they (somehow) knew that eating the brains of the living would relieve that pain. (Go with endorphins if you want...it's fantasy).

So a big ol' gang of dumb zombies running at three or four survivors with flamethrowers are barbeque......a SMART zombie and his gang, hiding around the corner, saying "Help...help...I've broken my leg. Somebody please help me!" to get some of that tasty living cerebellum....is pretty scary.

    Favorite series: SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW

Although they really kind of ran it into the ground after the third one. You can't kill off the main character and expect the movies to still be good.

I just saw the previews for this the other night. I am so thoroughly offended that they are remaking this. It looks like they're trying to make it serious. We all remember what happened the last time they did that. We got the original Evil Dead; a movie so bad that it gave birth to the most epic sequel in cinema history.

I really wish they'd leave the classics alone.

But, the original was supposed to be serious...

And, at the time, it was really creepy...

But, if you only see it after seeing more recent horror flicks with better, gorier effects, then Evil Dead will look very ridiculous...

All that aside, the trailers looks really good for this reboot...

Can't wait to see it Thursday...

I have all of those, but, you are absolutely right...

It was a wrap after 3...

But, the first 3 were good, and, the first one was genius...

I like the second one, myself. I like how it kicks right into action early on, and you spend the entire movie with Jigsaw. I thought it was really well done.

See, I think it was still bad for its time. As do a lot of people. Which was the whole reason part 2 was such a success. Because it mocked everything about the original that everybody was already mocking. By choosing to laugh with the crowd, it won favoritism with the audience, completely changed the genre of the film series, and made them all cult classics - turning Bruce Campbell into an icon.

    Very true...

    It was a great movie...

Well, yeah, it was a bad movie from the get-go...

My point was that they intended on making a legit horror flick, and, wound up with an ultra-campy cult classic...

I don't see the new one ending up that way...

Can't wait to see it tonight...

The Ring is one of the few movies that, as an adult, have legitimately scared me...

It was great, beginning to end...

Quarantine is entertaining, but, by no means is it a good movie...

Quarantine is the remake of REC a Spanish film and the first of a trilogy , it was a big hit here in Europe

Ringu is the Japanese original of "The Ring" , it is not more scary than the remake if you are familiar with Japanese culture or their cinema , if you are not the movie can be really weird.

Yeah, I've seen the first [REC] and about half of the third one...

I like them, much more than Quarantine...
