Its not drones that are the problem. It is the idea that Americans can be assassinated by the federal government.

Self-defense is one thing--that is, killing someone in the commission of a crime (terrorism) and stopping them in the act. Assassination is another.

 

All you have to do is look at news reports describing the rebel groups and who they are "tied" to.

 

There would be no need. The press would be crucifying a Republican administration for such statements. They give Obama a pass.

 

That being the case then it just reinforces the fact that Rand Paul is really an idiot. Does it really matter if a person is killed by our government with a drone or with a rock? If it's murder then it's still murder. If it's carried out under the US Constitution and the laws of the United States, which is possible, then it's not murder.

 

Why did he have to stand and talk?
The last 1000 or so filibusters, all one had to do was threaten. Why the difference this time?

 

My problem is with drones all together. The technology is a bad news for human rights.

Demonstrate that we have knowingly given aid to groups that are part of Al Qaeda.

Again do you expect a receipt? When you give aid to "rebels" including arms and those arms get into the hands of AQ because they are known to have ties with the rebels..... Think man think.

 

The President has the authority as dirrected by the Congress on September 14th 2001 so Rand Paul needs to go to the looney bin like his looney dad.

You need to show that we have knowingly transferred weapons to AQ linked militias.

Show that individual had anything to do with 911 like the resolution mentions. Its not an open blanket order to kill anyone you label AQ.

 

The advocates of bypassing the judicial system would say that the person in question is guilty of terrorism by association. The allegation alone is enough to kill a US citizen in today's world.

 

Who said anything about a receipt. All you need to do is show that the US has given arms to an AQ linked militia.

Let me give you an example of why your argument is crap:

Let's say a widespread armed rebellion begins against the US and you are a member of a militia fighting for the creation of a new Constitution and a return to pre-New Deal government. Your cause is righteous, yes?

Let's say another group is a bunch of white supremacist Neo-Fascists who also want to create a new government but they additionally murder ethnic and religious minorities in pursuit of "purity".

Both of your groups are "rebels". Because of that are you "linked" to them? And if someone arms your cause, are they "arming groups associated with white supremacists"?

 

The intelligence is classified. The oversight is already conducted with the intel community, Congress, and the military.
