Was wondering how many people who own a firearm and those who dont have ever gone to a range to shoot? I recently "Finally" went to the range and took about 100 rounds of .45 reloads and 50 rounds of hollow points (used mostly all my ammo too ) lol I know this is the GC section but proper practice with your firearm helps. So was curious how many people have Gone, Go, or frequent their local shooting ranges. I will upload a picture in a secound.
Once or twice a month, at least until I run out of ammo. I'm shooting less at each visit now since ammo is virtually unobtainable thanks to the preptards..
My misses wants to go next weekend but not sure if were going to make it a bi-weekly thing or once a month. Lucked out a good buddy locally does ammo at a great price, I just used up all my home defense ammo and had to go buy a bos 23 bucks for 20 rounds of "Zombie Maxx" Hornady HP
My wife an I and another couple were going every week. The ammo situation has kind of slowed us down. There are a lot of other people go at least once a week. The people that live in the country probably shoot more often depending on ammo availability.
Not as much as I'd like. Been trying to go once a month but my ammo stash is running low and I'm certainly not going to pay almost $1.00/round to restock. Might have to stop going until the buying frenzy has subsided.
I train people in firearm self defense so I'm there on the weekends, and I compete in the International Defensive Pistol Association matches regularly. Go to Youtube and search IDPA and watch the competitors. It's great fun and teaches proficiency with your firearm. There are matches everywhere across this country every weekend. It's a great sport and it's easy to get involved for the new shooter.
I assume by the name, you are not around the massachussetts area... I am putting together a youtube page about home defense with a firearms. It is going to cover how to keep your guns locked up safe, but still have the ability to acess them quickly, different attachments that are good for low light, different firearms with there pros and cons, a rating system from conclusions of testing (manuverability, ease of use, wall penetration, etc.). Anyways I do a lot of training with a lot of different instructors because each instructor seems to have different preferances. Sounds like you know your stuff though!
I used to go to a pistol range about 12 years ago with one of my friends who owned a 9mm. I was really bad at it but it was still fun. He ended up selling his pistol though and I haven't been back.
One of my supervisors is a long time friend of the family and the only person from work I invited to my wedding (Kept it real small) and she has 10 acres and about 10-20 different rifles she wants to go shoot form black powder to some newer ones. lol We might goto the range saturday so she might go with the misses and I to shoot.
When I was seven I would go and blast grasshoppers with my bb gun while my Dad and Grandpa shot rifles. Haven't gone for a while now, but I live in a tiny town so it's five minutes to a range. Reloading helps cut down on cost!! I do need to work up a new load for my .243 now that I think about it.
for those who reload shotshells, Hornaday has a guide for relaoding 20 ga. shells with a 50 cal ball. 1660 ft /sec muzzle velocity and will travel accurately up to 125 yards. I know this sounds weak, but is most excellent for hunting and home defense.
I used to have to carry a gun for my job. I have been to the range often. I don't own or carry a gun today... there's no need.
my grandfather has 12 acres, theres a nice wooded clearing with a large burm. Thats my range. I go once or twice a month. Less recently due to ammo scare.
I'll go to a range about 4 times a year. Last time I shot was with some guys on their land a month ago. I do more dry fire practice than anything. I'll wait until the ammo supply situation improves before doing much more actual shooting. I'm lucky that I don't have to carry a gun on my person, in my particular area very often. If I am going to be going into free-fire zones like Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, Jackson or New Orleans, then I'll have one on my person or nearby. If more of the people who lived these places were more tolerant towards others then I wouldn't need to be armed there either. But sadley, every single one of the worst areas in the US are controlled by liberal democrats. What a coincidence.
I wasnt in a rush for a holster but might look into one for when I am home. I live next to my grandmother and my aunt (I am in the middle) and can carry my gun at either house or property. Was BBQ'n at 9 (Late I know) and heard people rustling around behind the house that the dogs were going crazy. (BBQ'd Because wife was getting out late and loves bbq also) So a lot of people moveing across the border in my area again.
