It is not necessarily an oxymoron. Responsibility can mean either accountability, or reliability. Promiscuous sex CAN mean indiscriminate, but it can also simply mean transient, frequent sex with multiple partners. While it may not be possibly to be indiscriminate and responsible, it IS clearly possible to have multiple transient sexual partners but go about it in a responsible manner. Admittedly this is probably not the norm, but neither is it oxymoronic.

Likewise, it is not UNAVOIDABLY harmful. It is simple arrogance or ignorance that would lead a person to that conclusion, there is simply no backing for such a statement of any kind.

And, the media, TV, movies, etc would of course never let on what such adults were doing behind closed doors.
Society could live with that I suppose.
