I'm not here to point fingers. Are there a lot of dumb cons? Yes there are. Libertarians? Of course. Independents? Absolutely.

But the point is, liberals love to be cast under the intelligent light — they are the ones claim to be an option for intellectuals, college professors and highly-skilled professionals, while as long as you think about it, it's just donkey backwards. Why? A typical conversation between me and my bud went like this:

My liberal friend(MLF below for short): Walmart is immoral, outsourcing is immoral, globalization is immoral.

Me: I know what you are trying to say, but why are they doing all that? Why do all those business ship jobs abroad?

MLF: To drive down cost, to earn more profit, dumb@$$!

Me: Sure, I wouldn't have it any other way, but the more profit they make, the more money they will spend and invest, in turn, more jobs will be created, don't you think it cuts both ways, to say the least?

MLF: I can't believe it, are you apologizing for those rich fudges? What about those jobs lost in the process?

Me: Yea let's get right on to it, what about them. Say Malaysians make 1 pound cheese for 3 bucks, while Wisconsinians make 1 pound for 8 bucks, according to you, we should keep making those cheese in Wisconsin, right?


MLF: *Rubs face, slap his thigh then shrugs" Yea, of course, what's your point?

Me: In other words, those who buy 1 pound of cheese have to pay extra 5 bucks to subsidize workers in Wisconsin, right? Say a family of 5 consumes...like 100 pounds of cheese a year, that's 500 bucks more on their budget, and let's forget about other costs driven up by the cheese price like burgers and labors...

MLF: BS! That's so not what I meant, what I'm trying to say is, those CEOs could have a few bucks less in their fat pay check...

Me: Oh here we go with the CEO again. Let's say a CEO of a cheese manufacture that covers 1/3 of US population makes... 100 millions a year, does that sound right?

Me: And you think it's messed up, because no one should be making 100 mils a year, he's totally overpaid, right?

Me: Let's say he feels kinda guilty and decided to make only... 500,000 a year and lower the price. And let's suppose American people consumes only 10 pounds of cheese a year, *pop up calculator on iPad* 99,500,00/10*100,000,000= 0.0095 bucks = 0.95 cent, *show him the result on iPad* there, enjoy your discount.

Those of us on the "outside" have seen the "dumbing down" of the Republican Party as it becomes more and more dominated by anti-intellectuals because, fundamentally, they're just not smart enough to understand science. To compound this problem is the fact that many Republican political leaders that may be much smarter are pandering to the growing ignorant rank and file Republicans in seeking their political support. Then again we're also seeing a rise in the number of really ignorant (i.e. low IQ) Republican politicans being elected as well.

Of course the "rebuttal" is typically that "conservatives" don't believe the scientific studies because they're not smart enough to understand the science. Their rebuttal is really a confirmation of the average overall low IQ of the social-conservative ideology.

Bottom line is that a lot of stupid people become social-conservatives because they're not smart enough to be anything else.

You seem to forget that it does not matter on here how smart any one of us thinks we are our where we went to school or the types of degrees we have. All that matters is the argument and who is the most logical in leading premises to conclusions. You failed in this task as soon as you mentioned your alleged education.

So, you assume that academic pedigree equates to knowledge, logic, and intelligence. I can tell you that the correlation is relatively weak. I'm not even going to include the anecdotal evidence that you represent.
