If this theft wasn't so serious this would be funny,
    ______

Rudd press conference. There will be no carbon tax under a government I lead?

LABOR is facing a multi-billion-dollar blow to its budget bottom line as Kevin Rudd prepares to fast-track a cut to the carbon price to blunt Coalition attacks…

Such a cut, while retaining carbon tax compensation measures, would rip $15 billion from the budget, according to the opposition…

A more rapid switch to a floating carbon price, currently not due until 2015, would have to be legislated.

Parliament has now risen so any change to the timetable would have to be an election commitment.

The massive cost is one thing.

But this would mean Rudd becomes the second Labor leader going into an election promising:

There will be no carbon tax under a government I lead.

If he's going to float it a year early he can just wind back some of the compensation to match the expected price decrease, this was always likely to happen when it was floated anyway. It's the Coalition who wants to abolish the carbon tax and the mining tax while keeping all the compensation and paying for their direct action plan, much bigger budgetary problem imo.

The point is Ziggy that this whole Carbon Tax, Globull warming scam, ETS etc, if Rudd was honest he would be doing what Abbott is doing and ditching it....all it is, is the focking bankers scamming the world...if he was really honest not only should he be ditchng it he should be investigating for fraud people like Flannery...but he isn't honest, even though Gillard told us to our faces what this Globull warming scam is all about....

International carbon markets will cover billions of consumers this decade. Ask the bankers at your table whether they want Australia to clip that ticket. We’re going to help them get their share ====Julia Gillard
