Probably best to keep the discussion located in the US - so I ask, what is the objective of gun control laws in the US?

Good Job, yours is the only point that matters in this discussion, not empirical, not factual, not emotional points nothing but good old RIGHTS.
I will take the time to point out that Reiver, like Daniel is quite single minded and posts as such. You'll not get much of an intelligent discussion there.

poor dodge and a fail..........in all of these cities it is illegal to own a handgun. So how do you explain the numbers of handgun murders when there aren't supposed to be any? Could it be that the inner cities contribute to the number of shootings through gang activities? We already know the lawful and conscientious gun owners are not involved.

Really? Let's take a look at that...

    2011
    Firearm Brady
    State Murders Score

California 1,220 81 (Highest Brady Score)
    Texas 699 4
    Pennsylvania 470 26
    Michigan 450 25
    New York 445 62
    Louisiana 402 2
    Illinois 377 35
    Georgia 370 8
    Ohio 344 7
    North Carolina 335 16
(Brady rates states gun laws on a scale of 0 to 100. 0 being the most lenient, and 100 being the strictest.

Ok, there is no support for your statement there. The strictest state ranks number 1 in Firearm Murders. So, let's look at the states with the lowest Brady scores. These are the most lenient states:

    State "Total Brady
    firearms" Score
    Utah 26 0
    Arizona 222 0
    Alaska 16 0
    Oklahoma 131 2
    North Dakota 6 2
    Montana 7 2
    Louisiana 402 2
    Kentucky 100 2
    Idaho 17 2
    Wisconsin 80 3

Again no rhyme or reason. So, what does all this mean? Simple. Gun Control laws do not have an effect on the number of murders, because the majority of people committing the murders are not using legally obtained guns.

I'm just pointing out how totally brainwashed you are, lad. You have paid for the Nazis occupying Palestine to murder 2,000 children so far, for instance, but they keep that from the brainwashed. You can criticize 'socialism' and 'liberalism', but you are not allowed to know what those movements are about, are you - just to rant when your masters press your buttons? I'm afraid that you are just wooden puppets whose operators have you squeak about your 'freedom' as they pull your strings. It is sad - there was once a deal to be admired over there, but it is nearly all gone.

Since we live in American colony, the issue is much the same - but we are a deal less brainwashed than those who are convinced that they are 'free' because they have the means to murder children. Trained troops would wipe them out in five minutes, as you know.

like most of your geographical references, America has no colonies. Mayhap, you should retake basic elementary geography again? Again, Mr. Complicit, how many people died in your country because you own a cell phone? How many rapes are you responsible for?
Methinkest thou is brainwashed.............so blinded by outrage, that true vision is blurred and fuzzy............

A colony is a country controlled from outside. Grow up. And stick to beer, do - what on earth is the rest of your post about, man?

wrong once again. a colony is owned and subjugated by insane dictators. America has no colonies, unless you are weakly attempting to redefine words to suit your whatever it is......... Man oh man, go back to school and get some real education then come back, Mr. Complicit. Ever find Mexican on the map? Is that one of our so-called colonies, because if it is, the US gov would like to where the hell they misplaced it.....................
I don't drink alcohol, BTW........... sweet sun tea and coffee (wink) your insults have failed as well

Well, you are like Humpty Dumpty then - words mean what you want them to mean? A Colony, for everyone else, is a country controlled from outside, as was American until the tax-dodging slaveowners got the mugs to fight for them instead. The polite way to talk about colonail exploitation nowadays is to say 'neo' colonialism - but it's the same old exploitation, kid. Grow up. And the tea's got something in it, I'm afraid, unless your need for a proper NHS is even greater than I thought! :)

even those insults are bad..........................kid.........now that one is funny..............that's what Lib progressives rely upon............after everything else has the stamp of failure on it
So I guess you have admitted to being a wanna be tyrant? You never clarified that point................jes sayin..........
And you did admit you want to use force to stop the so-called alleged coercion............now that's a real life paradox............going to require a lot of self-righteousness, feigned indignation, more insults, holier than thou arrogance. Same false words used by all national saviors (Hitler, Stalin, Castro. Chairman Mao, etc.). It's always better to do it some other way, especially if it's your way. And just how do you think someone with an attitude like that (force by me is okay, but not for you) is going to be received on the world stage?

As I've told you about five million times, child, I am not a liberal. Outside the US, only the last-ditch defenders of capitalist footle are. If you are not pissed as a newt, why can I make no sense whatever of that ramble of yours? My dark anti-KKK prejudices, obviously! :)

false. From 1919 to 1986, homicide rate was practically unchanged. Since the banning of guns in 1986, firearm involved crimes have doubles, as have violent crimes.

The number of black market firearms has also risen dramatically.

Comparing raw numbers from country to country is also not valid, since crime is the result of numerous socio-economic factors.

If you insist on comparing country to country, here is a study that disproves the myth that more guns = more crime.

living in a dark mud hut has done all the damage it can do. Your just here for the fight, aren't you? That is generally viewed as being a bully. Bullies tend to be underachievers who use insults instead of having something intelligent to say, brag about things they no nothing about, make up facts about erroneous statements, and generally blame everyone else for their failures. You have no clue about Rights, only entitlements. You know, free table scraps from your elite.

Mostly, educated people don't believe what peasants tell them is 'true' because their masters vouched for it as the peasants licked their - well, let's say 'boots'. It makes the peasants squeak and roar, an educated response.

Most people with 'common sense' are educated, and those who aren't respect education. The problem with the US is that people went there solely to get rich, and if they're not they think they are rubbish and find fuhrers to tell them what to think and even more unfortunate people than themselves to hate. I won't get into the fact that 'common sense' is just the everyday name for ideology, but I will say that educated people know facts whereas peasants quote 'authorities' like the scoundrel Murdoch and suchlike craphounds, often using Wikipedia as a substitute for Holy Writ.
