Case in point to this assessment.

The Chinese Communist Party has a highly public campaign that has been discussed in the Chinese Media as well exists at every level in their Navy PR....that new Chinese Surface to Ship Anti-Carrier Missiles would counter the existing U.S. Navy Multiple Carrier Groups.

What is not discussed is the fact that all U.S. Carrier Groups have with them 2 Ticonderoga Class Aegis Cruisers that are equipped with the new designed SM-3 ABM/ASAT Missile. This ABM/ASAT was recently used to destroy a Hydrazine Booster Tank that was part of an Failing Orbital American Satellite.

Because Hydrazine is a deadly toxic gas and the satellite was in a decaying orbit this allowed the opportunity to test the new designed SM-3 as the Hydrazine Tank would not burn up in reentry but should it have impacted in a population zone it could have killed many people.

The U.S. Navy launched an SM-3 from a ship in the Pacific and targeted ONLY THE HYDRAZINE TANK and destroyed it upon impact. This is a LINK to the actual video....LINK...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDqNjnUNUl8

Now in the event a Chinese Carrier Killer Missile was launched at a U.S. Navy Carrier the SM-3 would have absolutely no problem destroying it as such a missile would be traveling much slower and be much closer that the Satellites Hydrazine Tank that it destroyed traveling at 16,000 to 18,000 miles per hour at ORBITAL DISTANCE.

Add to this the install of the FEL or Free Electron Laser which will be placed in all U.S. Carriers and Cruisers beginning with the new U.S. Navy's CVN-78 Gerald R. Ford. Such a Laser will be capable of destroying any incoming missiles or aircraft at great distances and velocities and as well will use a Satellite Targeting system for over the horizon targeting of Naval ships and land targets.

Even though the Chinese Communist Party is aware of these U.S. Military Capabilities it will not listen to the Chinese Military Leadership to develop tactics that would minimize Chinese Military losses due to such American Weapon systems much to the chagrin of Chinese Military Leaders.

Planes have been able to fly beyond pilot limits for decades that is nothing new at all. Pilots have blacked out by pulling to many Gs in fighters since the 60s and 70s. The difference is that todays missiles use visual recognition for locking on to targets so unless the fighter has a Romulan cloaking device on board you cannot full them 99% of the time. Missiles are faster and can maneuver far more rapidly than human pilots can.

Frankly the future is going to almost entirely drone fighters with human pilots reserved for niche missions or perhaps as a squadron commander over several drone fighters just to keep the human decision making element in play even if its just a support and command role.

This is what I have been trying to get across to him.

The United States Military and Air Force will go all Robotic Aircraft due to the fact without a pilot such aircraft can out fly anything in the sky's.

As well without the weight of all the equipment needed to give life support and an ejection seat for a pilot...a robotic aircraft will not only be faster, more maneuverable and stealthy....but it will be able to carry a great number of Air to Air Missiles internally or a large bomb payload.

While he goes on about the Su-35...a plane that was designed using aspects of the U.S. F-15...and while the Russians will be just beginning to fly and shake out the bugs of their new 5th Gen Aircraft....the U.S. Air Force will by that time have XRAF-31's flying missions!

You may be totally right. What strikes me is the fact that we are forced to even discuss the issue of Chinese civilian control of their military. We should be able to presume such control. The US needs predictability of control. There are other incidents that escape me at the moment. But this is an issue that has been on my mind for quite some time.

Sophisticated tech can be overwhelmed by numbers. I've seen the video of the USN carrier battle groups reaching out into low earth orbit. But the Chinese will use numbers and attrition only after the USN moves into Chinese battle space.

What would the USN do if the Chinese take out an American surface combatant, and then rescue the survivors and invite the family members to Beijing to pick up their family members? When it comes to the Chinese the only certainty is that they will surprise the US.

You have touched upon a valid point that the U.S. Navy is well aware of.

In the case that China was to invade Taiwan and although U.S. Carrier Groups can operate well away from a target it was deemed possible that multitudes of Chinese Anti-Ship Missiles as well as Chinese Air Force Planes might fly ONE WAY missions in vast numbers to overwhelm and destroy U.S. Carriers.

Because of this possibility the development of the Free Electron Laser was deemed priority and as a breakthrough was made in the development of this laser as well as it was decided that all U.S. Carriers and Cruisers would have Nuclear Powered FEL's as the CVN-78 Gerald R. Ford with have the FEL which will be able to draw elecric power from the two A1B Nuclear Reactors powering the ship.

The Carrier based FEL with a Global Networked Targeting Satellite System will be able to track THOUSANDS of independent targets and along with SPLIT BEAMING capabilities will be quite capable of tracking and vaporizing any number of incoming targets. As well the FEL will be able to destroy surface ships and land based targets at great over the horizon distances.

This Laser System is operational to a small extent now but it will not be until 2018 until it will be fully capable.

Such a weapon system will give the United States Military virtually unlimited strike ability and at the time this system is fully deployed it would mean an end to any nuclear missile threats from any rouge states.

It really doesn't matter how good the 2nd best produced Aircraft is.

All that matters is you are a better pilot flying the #1 Most capable and lethal aircraft.

The USAF has both the best pilots and the best aircraft....and without a doubt the best tactics.

    Ha!

We've gone toofar from the topic.

The key is that F-35 is one of the most unsuccessful aircraft that America ever built in the country's life.
It lacks the most needed things for eevry aircraft features - speed, maneuvrability, it's badly armed and it has a shoddy engine.

The SU-35 S is not the last Russian aircraft. However it outguns the so called ned US plane in every single technical feature.

Looking back at the history of the F-35 remains only to wonder to an exntent of failure of this project/

A new bird has been released with imperfections so devastating that it's distinctly clear that it's easier to design a new plane than to perfect the F-35.

Costs are clearly a concern as the F-35 is a programme that has run out of control. It is quite shockingly an aircraft that is more expensive than Australia. Yes, the programme will eventually tip over the $1.385 trillion mark, which is more than the Australian economy.

F-15 practically is the onle good US plane lucky not to face SU-27, All this whining about doviet tanks/planes got shot down can strike only a tad.

Who sat behind in those tanks/planes?

2 nd rate pilots/tankers who had no possibilty to train neithe experience how to make war with big countries.

In Korean War the Soviet pilots were tired to count shot US planes, In Vietnam no US aircraft felt easy.

A good pack of Soviet/Russian pilots or even british, french, italian, australian, canadian pilots, new zealanders in Russian planes and all US advantages would reduce at once.

As to simulations Russian simulations say other things. Indian simulations say US planes lose any fight on the heavens.

I think f-35 is the biggest ever made, This is why it was done and redone and its price skyrocketed.

In the Korean War the American F-86 Sabre had an 8 to 1 Kill Ratio over the MiG-15.

That's 8 destroyed MiG-15's to 1 F-86.....and you can google this fact as it is stated as such upon every viable site.

It is funny that you continue to keep going on and on about how bad an aircraft the F-35 is...LOL!

You must be frightened of it.

However by the time the Vietnam war came along US pilots had enormous respect for Soviet pilots and could tell when one had taken to the air within seconds of being sighted. And in terms of the Korean kill numbers, lets remember that almost from its inception, the Hat In The Ring Squadron was and continues to be an elite unit

    Now its evident!

Yes total account 1 to 15

Every one Soviet pilot against 15 americans,

We have a tons of evidences and not in US controlled Google but documentary facts!

Yes and no - It really came down to the rotation. At times US aircraft were falling out of the sky, at other it was Soviet machines

The Russians had developed a good aircraft in the Mig-15. But due to superior pilots and tactics these aircraft were destroyed in great numbers.

In Vietnam the United States did not have the proper close air support aircraft needed as the F-4 was designed as a high speed interceptor to counter Soviet Bombers and the F-105 Thunderchief was also designed for high speeds as well as designed to deliver tactical nuclear bombs to target in the European theater.

To make matters worse the F-4's were not designed with a gun as it was thought the days of dogfighting was over due to the development of Air to Air missiles.

Because of the lack of a close support aircraft as well as a highly maneuverable multi-role fighter...these issues were directly responsible for the development of the F-14, F-15 and F-16....as well as the A-10.

Now the USAF will be getting away from manned fighters as Robotic Aircraft are faster, more maneuverable, have greater stealth and can carry more missiles and bombs.

    Bla bla bla

Soviet pilots disported themselves in Korean war shooting down the US planes without sweating,
Everybody knows it, many Russian pilots said after that war the had no hatred to US pilots and treated those dogfights as a kind of entertainment.

And what says about that war you propaganda machine?

    US sabres did what?

Sure but we can see the performance of the F4 against NV pilots, basically cut them out of the sky. And yes tactics really override everything. I can recall seeing in 1988 A French elite pilot flying an F4 win 3 consecutive encounters with 2 US pilots in F18s at an airshow.

You've already made a flub F-35. Who said that a robot are going to do in 2025 or when you say you're going to comission would be a breakthorugh?

And PAK FA is going to raise in the 2014.

If a F-35 S is ALREADY no match to SU-35S which is evidently a masterpiece what are you going to say after PAK FA coming?

    Uhhh...NO.

You can do all the name calling you want but the facts are F-86's had an 8 to 1 kill ratio over the Mig-15.

There is a Military Channel special you can look up and watch that interviews both Russian and American Pilots and in this special Russian Pilots talk about how they had to dress up wearing Chinese Uniforms so that they could fly as well several Russian Pilots talk about how at first the MiG-15's had a 1 to 1 Kill Ratio with American Pilots flying F-86's but after a short time the Mig-15 was found to have issues as the fighter's good points were counterbalanced by such undesirable features as poor control at high speeds, a low rate of roll and directional instability at high altitudes.

As this was determined by U.S. Pilots tactics to fight the MiG-15's were developed that eventually brought the U.S. Kill rate up to 8 to 1.

    Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Look at him!

    Buddy!

Pull out your head out of US propoganda facilities - nespapers, TV shows, and Google.

Just admit that your planes are as good as others countries aircrafts.
Yes sometimes Soviets made better planes.

    However its no problem.

    C'est la vie!

    LOL!

You really do LOVE to go on and on don't you? LOL!

As another member here put it so aptly.

Russia has been trying to sell Su-35's which is really just a repackaged Su-27M...as it is the same damn aircraft...to many countries over the years since the early 1980's and over the 30 years the Su-35 has existed exactly how many of this aircraft has Russia sold over these 30 years?

    ZERO! That's right! ZERO!

The reason they have not sold a single Su-35 in 30 years is that the aircraft is just not up to standards when compared with the American counterparts.

The F-35 is a dud, but the RAAF shouldn't fly Sukhois because doing so is strategically risky. It should rather stick to older American dedicated fighters, interdictors and attack aircraft (respectively the F-15, F-111, and A-10), along with European alternatives.

Australia could opt for the new variant F-18 Super Hornet which as a Multi-Role Fighter/Attack Aircraft gives the RAAF flexibility.

But purchasing the F-35 would give the Aussie Air Force the ability to hands down shoot anything out of the sky with the exception of the F-22.

The F-35 can target and fire upon multiple aircraft before such aircraft even know they are being targeted. That is a capability that the RAAF has never before had.

Multirole aircraft all suck worse at everything they do than dedicated aircraft.

The F-35 actually has very poor aft stealth capabilities (by design), it loses stealth capability in a dogfight, its stealth capability is useless in aerial combat within visual range, and it has inferior performance to any other fighter aircraft; despite (slightly) superior avionics.

Case in point when the Eurofighter was invited to Red Flag to fly against F-22's...due to the Stealth of the F-22's and their pilots tactics...it was decided after only a few engagements that had the F-22's destroying every single Eurofighter they went up against in Mock Battle...that in order for the Eurofighter to have a chance F-22 pilots would discard their standard tactics and fly close in to allow dogfights.

At that point the Eurofighter pilots fared not bad and in such mock battle did down a few F-22's.

But the reality is that STEALTH AIRCRAFT such as the F-22 and F-35...when using their standard tactics of stealth, long range targeting and when using highly advanced targeting....even an advanced aircraft as the Eurofighters had absolutely ZERO CHANCE of defeating the F-22's.

This is the same concept and capabilities that can be expected from the F-35's.

    AboveAlpha

    - - - Updated - - -

There is no reason to be dogfighting with an F-35.

The aircraft is fully capable of maintaining a high level of Stealth at distance and destroying other aircraft before they even knew what hit them.

I've already told you you understand nothin in a matter you're desperately trying to discuss!

Kudos to Soviet air designers if they put in their constructions possibilities to upgrade plane for the next 30 years! Those planes keep being the real threat to your air industry.

    As to zero selling.
Yes of course and no wonder!
If Romania was at the place of the United States it would grasp every country and nation by the throat pressing them down to buy their airplanes and say how good they are.

However time is changing and F-35 confirms this idea.
New superior to yours Russians planes have already appeared and the best ones will show up in the next year!
