As revealed in the disturbing video, two Christian street preachers stood near a gay pride march, one holding a large sign and the other one clutching a Bible.

The sign did not make any targeted, inflammatory statements against any particular group.

But several of the marchers did not care.

A heavy-set man and a woman broke off from the march to confront the preachers. The preacher in the “Trust Jesus” t-shirt tried to block the initial shoving with his Bible.

Both preachers attempted to retreat from conflict.

A short man knocked down the preacher holding the sign, taking it away from him as the heavy-set man sucker punched the preacher in the head.

The short man showed no mercy as he kicked the now-down preacher in the ribs.

After the brutal assault on both the preachers and free speech, two police officers walked towards the quickly fleeing attackers.

According to Life Site News, the officers did arrest 36-year-old Jason Queree as well as an additional suspect.

Really? I volunteered at a pride event, two churches attended (Santa Fe not biggest city in world). One preached "tolerance", the other gave me a free bottle of water.

Have you other religious holdouts considered, I don't know, being useful? You might get a warmer response if you practice the Christian charity you preach.

 

Yes, freedom of speech doesn't mix well with religious freedoms these days. These preachers were just doing what they feel God called them to do but were innocent bystanders.

I am glad they made an arrest. There is no reason for violance and it seems our nation is less tolerant of Christians and people of God than they are any other group as in this instance.

Seattle had their annual gay pride parade and thankfully everything was peaceful. There is a lot of tolerance of gays here. It seems Seattle has a lot of pride in Atheism and not religions, especially Christians.

 

Give me a break, religion at the helm always practices censorship. Germany doesn't tolerate neo-nazi for a reason - if they ever got power, everyone else would lose theirs. I don't go and protest churches. I tolerate things that aren't trying to stomp on me - mostly, I'm just not bothered by them. Not all Bible folk are hateful, so I tolerate them - even though their book is hateful and pathological. It's just not a primary issue for me. But I could care less if neo-nazis are attacked, and protestant U.S. was about as totalitarian. So go on, yell "up the totalitarian church-state".

 

As said in another thread: as much as it was correct to make this arrest, I honestly can't be bothered to give a (*)(*)(*)(*). I am all out of (*)(*)(*)(*)s to give about people who get assaulted when verbally harassing people at pride events. It's like if some dude went into Harlem and started preaching about how "all the darkies are against god" - yeah, I don't feel sorry for that guy.

And you know what? I'm not tolerant of these guys. I'm not going to tolerate people who wouldn't return the favor. I'm not going to say to people like the preacher in that video, "Hey, you think I'm scum and that I'm going to suffer for all eternity for my sexual orientation (Which I didn't choose) and you think that is perfectly just, feel free to hang around". I'm going to say, "You think I deserve to suffer for all eternity due to something outside of my control? Here's an idea: get the (*)(*)(*)(*) out you disgusting, pig-headed (*)(*)(*)(*)****. The very thought of you existing makes me sick, please go die in the fire you think I should be sent to". You want a persecution complex? I say, give 'em a reason to have one!

 

Although i think that parading your sexuality is stupid those trolls got what they deserved.

 

The pride event in my area didn't have only gay-related organizations - which, amusingly, a lot of are primarily commercial in nature. It's hardly easy to find organizations in general.

Simply put, no one asked them. It's none of their business.

 

Initiating force is wrong no matter who does it. It's wrong when the state steals a homosexual couple's property via taxation, it's wrong when gay rights advocates punch their opposition.

Trying to color their opinions on gay rights with their behavior is guilt by association.

 

Right, they merely preach violence, seek converts, etc. The violence is done at a more convenient point in time.
Admittedly, I would not personally care if I was protested, but the spirit is there.

 

Did you not notice the two Christians with the signs were harrassed, screamed at and beaten? What did they do wrong?

 

They preached violence. I personally would not have beaten or otherwise bothered them simply for being there.

 

At least you have the same compassion for and concept of liberty for others as you want others to have for you.

Liberty let Hitler get power. Liberty is not an infallible guiding principle. I believe most of the fathers of republicanism in general gave higher precedence to reason - of which liberty is a derivative value. They were also mostly deists. Not religious.

 

Hey, it was wrong to beat them up. But I can't really feel much compassion for them when they basically went around looking to stir (*)(*)(*)(*) up.

It is about trolling not just disagreeing , i do not go stand outside church on Sunday morning to preach the benefits of sodomy because i use common sense, i do not go outside barracks to give anti-military speeches , i do not go in a nudist beach to talk about morals , i do not go to weddings to explain why marriage is wrong. For everything there is a time and a place , promoting your religion of hate to those hated because of it is asking for trouble.

If you don't respect the freedom of speech for others why shoul;d they respect yours. I am on teh side of gay people but to attack others for non violent protest is disgusting
