There is a world of difference between, for example, staging a counter-demonstration at one of their attempts to demonstrate at a funeral, or demonstrating outside their church, and performing deliberately ridiculous and offensive stunts like this purely to wind people up. It is that that is 'sinking to their level'.

No, I don't. It's entirely a matter for the family to decide how they want to deal with it. If they want to hold a counter-demonstration or some form of 'blocking action', that's up to them. Personally I'd want to ignore them, but I can understand why some families want to challenge them if they turn up to a family funeral, and I wouldn't be standing in their way if that is what they decided to do, as long as they were going about it in a peaceful and legal manner.
