Where, before 19060, was killing a black person not a crime and how frequent did that happen? You can point to lynching of Blacks that had committed crimes or breach of morality but they were very localized and rare.

So what is it called when people blame all of one race for the stations of the few? That is the dreaded profiling but you seem to think that it is fine to profile white people as having been complicit with the ills of the past 200 years when it was white people who died to free the Black people, whites that voted to grant equal rights to the Black people, and it is still white people who work hard to help Blacks all that they can be.

On the other hand it is Blacks who are disproportionally satisfied to live from welfare check to the next.

"These voter ID laws undermine democracy by cutting off participation," said Judith Browne Dianis, an attorney with the Advancement Project. "These laws do not prevent fraud; they prevent voting."

Applewhite believes photo voter ID -- approved by a Republican-controlled state legislature and signed by Republican governor Tom Corbett -- is aimed at suppressing the votes of minorities, who lean Democratic and turned out in record numbers for President Obama in 2008.

"They don't want him in there, and they're trying to get him out. They will get him out because if the black people don't vote for him, he's crippled," Applewhite said.

As evidence, backers of the lawsuit point to comments that Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai made to a Republican gathering on June 23, listing party achievements: "Voter ID, which is going to allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania -- done!"

Those 700K young minorities CHOOSE not to go get ID . That is THEIR failure, not the systems . How do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you won't even admit such a simple thing.

As to the question of constitutionality . I actually see nothing about not having to show ID to vote.

A charge might I add that was levied by the a court of law in england against our police. Voter ID doesn't prevent minorities from voting, it stops those who don't have ID from voting. If there are some black people who don't have ID it is their own damned fault.

Unless of course you can provide evidence that blacks are being prevented from obtaining Id simply b/c they are black. Which you won't be able to.

It was due to her not having the required documentation to obtain an ID. Do you understand why the government requires a certain level of proof of ID before they issue a state ID?

I've read a lot of studies and in the past of course there was racism in the voting laws, but that isn't today and has nothing to do with voter ID.

The fact that a lot of blacks can't manage to obtain ID is a function of many things, their skin color is not one of them.

I mean what would you say if someone posted a video of black people rioting and said "see, they are rioting because they are black and blacks are animals" would that make sense? No because the color of their skin isn't why they are animals. Just like the color of their skin isn't why they can't obtain ID.
